nice and quiet

love how quiet it is... we load and start it, and off it goes. Not as pumped about the loading layout, but we've adapted from our previous machine. After getting a leveling issue resolved, it works fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only 18 inches but packs a lot! Dinner for 8 to 12 no problem and the dishes and glasses are sparkling clean! Also works great for two people washing a few times per week.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No drying cycle/not in description

Did not know there was not a drying cycle. It is not safe to leave door open to air dry in my small kitchen. Not sure what to do about this problem. It is extremely quiet and dishes do come out clean.

Hey there,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your review with us. We can understand your concern with the drying and will be happy to explain. Condensate Dry is an energy-efficient drying system on some dishwashers.
With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and assists the drying process.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We're always happy to help! Mike@GEA

Disappointed by multiple design flaws

We purchased an 18" PDT145 GE Profile series dishwasher for our new digs. I used to view the Profile series as a superior product. This one is a marked exception. 1) The utensils basket lacks the split top that gives you the option of leaving half the basket open; i.e., it's all or nothing. 2) With the utensils basket in place, several of the "lift up" plate racks become unusable. Whoever designed the rack evidently ignored the presence of a utensils basket. 3). Most significantly, the dishwasher doesn't dry UNLESS YOU MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR WHEN THE CLEAN LIGHT COMES ON. You only find that out in the manual's trouble shooting section since the manual doesn't address it otherwise. This is an example of ill-considered design. You would think the machine would at the very least pop open the door itself. I understand the idea is to save energy by relying on air drying facilitated by using some surfactant product combined with the residual heat in the interior from washing the dishes. But did it ever occur to whoever designed this that the owner just might be turning it on when they go to bed? Nothing like waking up to a dishwasher full of wet dishes. The Profile series used to be characterized by superior design, but definitely not in this case. I can't recommend this product.

18 inch dishwasher

Dishwasher cleans dishes overall but I have a few recommendations on the racks. The bottom rack posts are too close together. Lid covers don’t fit well in between posts. It’s a poor design. It’s very difficult to fit dishes in between the posts. The silverware basket is cheap and doesn’t hold silverware very well. Silver flops around too much. And very tippy silverware holder. I had a Danby before and now wish I would have rebought from them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
