I previously had a compact dishwasher that was loud and didn’t clean. It went out fortunately for me and I ended up with this GE product, excellent cleaning. And super quiet!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pros: looks nice and is quiet. Cons: sanitize cycle is 162 minutes long. upper rack seldom engages the water transfer connection on back wall of washer properly and wont allow door to fully close, requires shaking the rack until alignment occurs. Utensil basket is too short allowing silverware to tilt sideways beyond the basket. Contents never completly dry even if door is opened following was cycle as instructed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, thanks for sharing. We're glad you're enjoying the quiet performance of your dishwasher. We appreciate your comments on the cycle duration and design of this model. If you're still unable to get dishes completely dry, Low inlet water temperature could be the cause. Please make sure inlet water temperature is at least 120°F and also try using Wash Temp Boost. Selecting a higher setting like Heavy, could fix the issue as well. More troubleshooting tips can be found in the use and care manual. Door on soap dispenser doesn't work right and left a clump of soap in bottom. Also, 10" dishes do not fit in like they should.

Hey,
We appreciate you taking some time to rate your dishwasher. Our apologies to hear about soap not completely dissolving in your dishwasher. If you have dishwasher detergent stuck in the soap cup after the end of a wash cycle, here are some things to check:
Detergent may be old, discard it and use fresh detergent. Store detergent in a cool, dry place, especially powder detergent. Check the spray arms for blocked spray holes. Make sure the soap cup is not blocked by anything: Reposition the dishes so the water from the lower spray arm can flush the detergent cup. Reposition the tall utensils or heavy silverware that may be keeping the dispenser cup door from opening. Do not place large bowls or pots directly under the detergent dispenser.
Verify the spray arms are turning on their own. To test: Mark the spray arms with a piece of tape or a rubber band or observe their position. Run the dishwasher for at least 3 minutes. It is necessary to run the dishwasher for at least three minutes because the spray arms alternate on some models. Open the dishwasher door and observe the location of the spray arms. They should be in a different position than when the test was started.
Make sure the soap cup actually opened at the end of the cycle. Check the filter area inside the dishwasher for any restrictions. The incoming water temperature should be at least 120 degrees, but no more than 140 degrees. You can test the water temperature by running hot water into a container at the sink and measuring the temperature there.
You can also check out page 8 of the manual for some helpful loading suggestions. https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55124-5.pdf&_ga=2.245755396.1880327357.1658753745-1399050172.1598645166

Good if you're looking for an 18" DW - some of the rock design makes it tougher to fit bowls in there but overall does a great job cleaning.
