No great features

The button to start the dishwasher sometimes sticks. Bottom dish rack does NOT pull out without falling off the track. The silver ware rack does not fit well in the dishwasher. The soap dispenser sometimes doesn't open up to release the soap pod. The dishes don't dry well some of the time.

Hello, thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry your dishwasher has not been operating to your standards and truly understand your frustration. Regarding your dishes not drying as well as you would expect, there are a few things to check. For the best wash and dry performance, we recommend making sure the water is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit when it enters the tub. Also, check that the filters are not clogged and the dishes are loaded properly. Selecting any additional heat settings will help both the wash and dry cycles as well as high quality detergent and rinse aid. You can read more about this in your owner's manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55124-5.pdf For your start button and dispenser issues, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can schedule service online at: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm or by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET or Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET. Additionally, we have passed your comments regarding the bottom dish rack and silverware rack along to our dishwasher design and development team for future improvement and consideration. We hope this helps! -Chris@GEA

Quiet Dishwasher

We replaced our 22 yr old Maytag dishwasher when it died. Our new GE dishwasher is quiet but doesn't have an intense dry cycle like our old Maytag.

I’m pleased with my purchase. It has an attractive front and easy setting controls. The delay start feature is great and it is very efficient. It is not as quiet as I thought it would be. But it is very powerful cleaning, nice design especially for the silverware basket.

We live the stainless steel. The only downside is the utensil container as this does not latch and occupying big section. Love the boost and sanitizer function

Still having problems

We are still experiences the problems we had with the previous model which was exchanged under warranty. The soap dispenser doesn't open on a timely basis so the cycle had to be run twice sometimes. This is not acceptable.

Nice to have

This is my first ever dishwasher, so I can't really compare it to others. I always though dishwashers did a so-so job, but so far this one is really great. Everything comes out super clean. I'm just unpacking things that were in storage for a few years, so it's nice to have the sanitize feature. I wish the washing times weren't so long, but I'm sure there is a reason why they seem to go on forever. We are on a well and I worry about using too much water, but supposedly these machines use less water than hand washing.

No dryer to dry the dishes
on July 10, 2021

Much smaller capacity than a typical dishwasher. And it doesn’t have a drying cycle. I run my dishes at night while we sleep so I’m not awake when the cycle completed to open the door as the literature suggests you do. Stupid design to have no drying feature. If it wasn’t already installed I’d return it.

Hello- We understand your frustration when a new appliance doesn't meet your expectations. This model doesn't have a dedicated Dry option. However, the Condensate Dry is always on.
This model does have a heating element. It’s integrated into the wash pump assembly. The heating element is a part of the wash pump assembly. This is why it is not listed as a separate part on the parts list.
We recommend turning your hot water on at your kitchen sink first and be sure to use rinse agent in the dispenser. This should give you a noticeable improvement. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share this with our engineering and design teams. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
