No dry-only, dries w/ steam, room for improvement

Disappointed. The front decor is plastic and there are gaps where it connects to the frame. The unit must be installed sticking out from counter to access controls, or you have to open the door. The 'dry' cycle depends on chemicals or you have to put up with steam. Needs babysitting. Not the best design. A missed opportunity. On the bright side it's good for sanitizing

This is the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It lasted 1 year and 3 months, and then it started leaking water from all corners.

Doesn’t dry dishes!
on January 2, 2021
Posted by: ComfortP
from Atlanta, GA
The dishwasher came with the house and it works pretty standard. My biggest problem is that it doesn’t dry the dishes after the cycle is done. The dishes are wet after the washer stops and long after the dishwasher has been off. The drying feature is probably the second most important feature a dishwasher MUST have. Very disappointing.

Hello ComfortP - Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear of the drying issue of your dishwasher. This model has the Condensate Dry feature. With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and assists the drying process. For more help with your concerns, please reach out to us by email at the following link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/contact-others.htm. We appreciate your feedback. Olga@GEA

Great Features Offset by Lack of Drying Function

I was excited to choose this model for an upgrade to my 10 year old GE dishwasher. I was particularly attracted to the stainless interior and top of door touchpad. The additional features such as food particle grinder were impressive. However, I was dismayed, and surprised quite frankly, that this "upscale" unit does not have a drying element and relies on a "Boost" water temperature option and liquid rinse to provide somewhat dry dishes. Even our 10 year old dishwasher had a heat element affording dry dishes at the end of the cycle. If this unit had better drying capabilities I would have given it 5 stars.

Hi there, we truly appreciate you being such a loyal member of the GE Appliances family and choosing this new dishwasher for your home to replace your previous model! While we are very glad that you have been impressed with the Stainless Steel interior, integrated top controls, and advanced Piranha disposer, we are sorry to hear that you have been disappointed in the drying performance and would love to offer you some guidance in this! Your dishwasher has a heating element integrated into the wash pump assembly and does not have a dedicated Dry option. Rather, it is designed with a Condensate Dry system that is always “on” and provides natural air drying by pulling condensation away from the dishes and onto the tub walls! To activate this process, the door must be opened immediately after the Clean light comes on. For maximum drying with this system, running an AutoSense or Heavy cycle, selecting the TempBoost option, and using a rinse agent will be beneficial. You can also learn more about poor dry performance within the troubleshooting guide on page 15 of your Use and Care Manual seen here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55124-5.pdf. Thank you for taking the time to share your review and helpful feedback. We sincerely hope that this helps! -Eliza@GEA
