Why does JXFILLR1BB have 12 inch notch in it?

Why does the JXFILLR1BB have a 12+inch notch in it? Bought it for my cafe 30 gas slide in stove. Useless with the notch on 2 of the prices. It’s the model number you recommend. Why does the JXFILLR1SS not have notches. It’s the same model number except for the color. Infact in many sites the are listed together. Eagerly Awaiting your response

Apologies about any confusion toward the installation and the design. The left hand side filler kit is vented for the Dark Dorian and Black kits (JXFILLR1DD & JXFILLR1BB). This very small notch in the filler reduces heat transfer from the range to the cooktop. The slots created by these notches are there to allow cooling air to flow down the side of the cooktop.

terrible design plan.

I have same issue as other people. The piece that is notched prevents a flush installation to close the gap between counter top and range. There should be 2 unnotched pieces.

Strips too short or too long; need custom cutting

I absolutely LOVE my new Cafe range, however, I believe that this kit should have been included with the purchase of the range. (The filler pieces are necessary for a complete, professional-looking installation.) Now...on to the kit...The length of the short side pieces are way to short and the length of the long side pieces are about 1" too long. (...I feel like I’m experiencing a ‘GE Cafe Range’ version of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears.") Now, I have to find someone who can custom cut the strips to fit properly. I am very discouraged by this experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product does a great job of covering the tiny space (upto 5/8 inch) between range and countertop sides, so food spills dont get in the cracks. However, I would have liked another version which was 1/4 inch taller (1/2 inch height), since my countertop is only 35 1/4 inch high, for a better visual appeal. The current height works for standard height countertops. Also, the longer pieces (25 inch) work perfectly for standard depth countertops. I am not sure about the use for the shorter pieces of 22 inch (if they were excluded, it could perhaps bring down the rather exorbitant price). Also, the installation manual could be improved.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Looking Accessory

These fillers beautifully closed the gaps between my countertops and new GE range. My son in law installed them and it was easy for him to do and the result is great! They look as if they are part of the stove and keep crumbs from falling into the gap!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Kit JXFILLR!DD

We have the JGSS66SELSS stove and ordered this trim kit because it shows it as an accessory for this stove. We need the longer rails for the sides but (1) is notched out. Is there a way of getting just (1) long piece that is not notched out?
