i saw all three products and i must say after viewing from top to bottom even the most standard version as in p series was top quality and definition was awesome and would be perfect for any game or audio system.
I've owned this TV for about a month or so now and have had time to use most features. The picture is amazing for the price. The Calibrated Dark was a bit too dark for me so I brightened it a bit. The dimming zones are a bit of a pain however if you watch shows that have dark scenes or a lot of solid colors, such as fog. Watching the show Victoria that has fog thoughout when a scene pans you see faint horizontal banding, not too bad and I've learned to ignore it. On a scifi show such as Dark Matter with space scenes, there is a glow around any bright object as is pans across the screen. I can live with it for the price since in scenes that a busier, the picture is amazing. One thing I hate is with the ARC used as soon as the receiver is turned on a message comes on the screen that you have to use the tv remote to get rid of. Why can't it just come on for a few seconds? I hate juggling remotes and the TV up button can't go on my Tivo remote. The smartcas apps are good, but the on-screen interface is really, really, yes really slow and laggy. So much so that I just use my Amazon Fire TV to use apps. The smartcast phone app also is very slow to work, and crashes on my phone. So stick to the Fire TV or other device for streaming and it's great. I give it 8/10 and would recommend it if the price was good. And for those like me that don't have a wide stand to fit, just buy an alternative stand on Amazon or other place. It fastens to the back like a wall mount but then goes downward on a post to a little stand. Get all metal and avoid the cheap glass versions out there. they swivel and it works much better than the little legs that ship with the TV. The sound is bad, just bad coming from my 14 year old 32" TV. It's mostly due to the small bezel so the sound comes out of the bottom. You can make adjustments, so turn off the fake surround, and pump up the bass/treble if you want to use the onboard speakers. I do for normal TV viewing, but then switch the home theater system for others. No need to hear the news in surround sound. TV was on sale for 599 for me so I felt it was well worth it for a 55 inch. Hope they can fix that weird banding issue though.
Its time to step up to 4K TV whether your still working great 1080p display is working good ore not, its gotta go. Streaming 4K + HDR may not be quite up to native Blu-ray 4K standards, but its so far above 1080p it cant be ignored. New shows like Lost in Space, Star Trek, Mrs. Maisel, Black Mirror, are dazzling in their own right.
I originally bought a refurbished Vizio tv, but it didn't work. Even though there was no Vizio warranty on the television, Vizio customer service was still good enough to give me a discounted price on a new television. They came through when they didn't have to. Because of this, I will buy more Vizio products. This is my first Vizio television and so far it's good. Set up was easy and the picture is good.
We aren’t very happy with this TV. Especially the lack of a built-in for receiving local channels via an antenna. So we had to go buy another peripheral, with another remote (to go with Apple TV, Roku, our Blu-Ray player, our sound bar - am forgetting something?) The built-in “Smart” apps, except for possibly Netflix, are sad. I tried to teach my wife how to use all this junk. She just sighed and went upstairs to watch our six-year-old Vizio with a built-in tuner and nearly 100 easy-to-access local channels. The new TV does have a slightly better picture. I’ll give it that.
