Vizio has always been able to bring a great TV experience for prices that make sense. I bought this to replace a ten year old Vizio 50 inch plasma that I had n the bedroom That TV still works (well mind you (another point for Vizio), but wanted to start my dabble into 4k. This TV has dolby vision and HDR support works great with connecting any device to play, streaming or otherwise. The picture is fantastic. I found myself watching this more than my main living room TV. Once you see true 4k content its hard to go back. Another thing to remember is that vizio doesn't skimp on speakers. For any tv you need at least 15w speakers for it be audible in a normal sized room. Anyway if you know TVs and the current 4k market, you already bought this; if not I dont think you will be disappointed if you do. Oh and make sure it is the new 2017 model, dont think any M55 is the same, the specs do differ. But for these 2017 models, vizio killed it. Check CNET for their reviews as well. I am eyeing the P series for the main living room, just wish it came in an 80 or 85 inch model. I am definitely hooked on 4k, just wish there was more content, but this looks like the year it is starting to gain momentum.
The TV has pretty good picture for the $ but it was really disappointing that a. there's no coax input so I can't even connect an HD antenna b. You can't stream anything without using a second device like a phone or ipad. These two issues make it a hassle to use the TV.
The M Series has superior picture to the D Series. Also sound quality is much better. I do not like the Smartcast feature. I would prefer to have Smart TV functions I can access from my remote. I have to buy a Amazon stick so I can watch Amazon Prime video.
Had for a month or so now, the lack of on screen apps that have not been released yet ( was told soon several time ) really does hamper the navigation on screen. The remote is unlit and hard to navigate, the buttons are so close together you have to really try to go by feel which is difficult at best. The sound is horrible out of the box so you best think about investing in a sound system to be able to enjoy the set. It still refuses to set up a new device by bluetooth so you have to use wifi to connect them. To top off the insult of no onscreen apps being pushed to the set yet, less than 30 days in and Vizio put the set on sale. Brand new set 2017 unit, still no onscreen apps and on sale two times since release? Lets have some customer loyalty here guys, deliver what you advertise and how about making good on the price adjustment!
I have had this TV for about a month. I hate it and truly wish I hadn't bought a Vizio this time around. The tv has some major flaws. First, it has no apps built in. It relies on casting from a phone or other device to stream. This wouldn't be a problem except that the casting function is buggy and I end up restarting the streaming app and the Vizio app on my phone to get it to work about half the time. It is annoying to the point that I will probably just buy a firestick to plug into the tv instead of using the cast function. Next, every time the tv is on and there is a power flicker or power failure, I have to do a complete set-up on the tv just like it's brand new out of the box. Lastly, on the third day I had the tv, the picture suddenly went VERY saturated with red. I tried everything in my power with the picture settings to no avail. I finally factory reset the tv to fix it. That meant I had to go through 15 minutes of set-up, yet again. What a complete disappointment and waste of money!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So the TV is excellent. Picture quality is amazing, really like the HDR, and the smart features keep it simple yet functional, not over-engineered like many of the "smart" TVs that are on the market. My only complaint (which might not be the TVs fault) is that when i hook up my sound bar to the HDMI (ARC) input, I have been experiencing a ton of minor glitches like the sound bar not registering unless I scroll through the settings as well as audio lag. Regardless, I just use the optical audio input and everything is working perfectly (I just need to use an additional remote). Again, this might be the sound bar and not the television.
The color and resolution is great. 4k picture is good. However I noticed while streaming through Amazon and Netflix, when there are complex designs on shirts worn by actors the picture seems to glitch out and not be able to keep up. I'm not sure if this is due to the 32 active LED zones or smooth motion. But I've tried everything to get rid of this issue. It's not my streaming services or specific tv. It is this model. I would not recommend this model.
