I bought this a month ago and I am very impressed with the picture quality and how well integrated the SmartCast features are. This is the M50-E1 Vizio SmartCast Mac series Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus. I have always liked Vizio for the amount of features that you get for the price. This display is definitely Value Packed.
M65 has a great picture - setup and software on it is good. Attention this unit does not have cable connection. no place to hookup antenna. If i would have know - i would not have bought it. They sale it as a addition. ok but where do you mount it!
I am disappointed in this product. It was a serious down grade from the previous 55" VIZIO I bought 6 years ago. The sound reminds me of a 13 inch TV with a metal cabinet had 50 years ago. The older VIZIO sounded great without external equipment. This VIZIO persists in getting me to accept TOC and register the set and sign up for SmartCast. It tells you they will spy on you and collect information what about you watch and they will send "exclusive deals and offers from VIZIO" which is a metaphor for clogging your email with a lot of drivel. The supplied firmware does not allow me to check WiFi speed unless I sign the TOC and sign up for the SmartCast. I watch Netflix, but this remote has no key to allow me to back out of a program or movie without closing Netflix which requires restarting Netflix. The universal remote with my Cable box has this feature. When I exit Netflix the thing tries to make me sign up for the SmartCast and accept TOC, and I have to reselect the input. The older VIZIO automatically went back to the input that was in use. The screen is too glossy and reflects any highlight in the room. I wonder if the slick screen is necessary for 4K. I notice all the new TVs have glossy screens.
Best price on true local dimming 4k tv with a super stylish exterior design. This is my first Vizio product and I've become a real fan. No longer will I pay twice the price for half the tech (looking at you Vizio's competitors)
The most important connection of modern TVs does not work. This is the HDMI ARC connection that transfers signals to and from the TV so you can connect with amplifiers and speakers in a home theater system, which should be expected for a TV of this size. I hope vizio will fix this with a firmware or hardware update soon otherwise there is no point buying this unit. Other than that nice features but only for those who want a simple TV. In that case there are probably better value units for your money. Since you can't use the tv in a simple or even a high quality home theater system setup I would not recommend this product. My systems include an Onkyo HT-R693 receiver, and an OPPO Blu-Ray DVD BDP103 and a second system includes a Marantz NR1508 receiver and Bose speakers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
