Beautiful picture, Amazing Features (<3 SmartCast)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with this TV! I'll start by just saying the value you get with this TV is hands down the best on the market. I have this 65" and another Vizio 75" and I am so happy with them both.
PROS:
- Vizio FINALLY got the TV app idea refined to a place that you actually enjoy using it. If you have had a TV before that claimed "smart apps" or similar, but never ended up using it because it was an awful interface, then trust me, I know how you feel. This is NOT like that at all. The built in casting ability makes it such a seamless experience. You know you have your phone on you 24/7. This TV can be easily controled via your phone. Netflix and all the other major apps are simple to use. The chromecast built in was the best solution to clunky software I've seen and cannot recommend it enough! I was worried about using Chromecast for 4K content, but it has zero issues.
- The obvious: Picture quality, is hands down top notch. You cannot beat 4k. Even the downscaling for non-HD TV is done well. I would highly recommend over more expensive TV's. I've owned tons of TV's from Sony, Westinghouse, LG, Mitsubishi, etc. This is comparable or better than those in all aspects. Beautiful brights, deep darks, very bright whites.
- One of the things I hated about my last TV was the glare during early morning (sun shines in our living room in the morning) and it made watching shows that had dark scenes very annoying. This TV is bright enough that it eliminates nearly all of that and can be watched in a bright room without problem.
- DURABLE - I have two young kids. We mounted this TV a little low (I prefer it lower vs high up like some people). There have been a few balls and other toys accidentally hit the screen. Not issues so far, it has held up well and no scratches on the screen. I wont test my luck (NO MORE BALLS IN THE HOUSE! haha)
CONS:
- Sometimes the chromecast has an issue connecting. This is very easy to fix. Simply close your netflix or related app and restart it. It mostly happens when I have had the TV on for a while or the netflix app open for a long time and not playing. Easy fix.
- The sound on these TV's basically requires the soundbar if you want a true experience. Don't pay all this money for a TV and skimp on the soundbar. Trust me, you will thank me for ordering it at the same time. Anytime the soundbar is off, I want to cry a little on the inside. Haha. But this is normal for screens like this. I have yet to have a flat screen have sound worth writing about which is why I am not docking it any points for this. The new Vizio 36" 5.1 2017 soundbar I got with this is loud, extremely clear dialouge (had issues with others that had muffled dialouge), and so worth getting. Just trust me. Haha
- I end up watching too much TV. But hey, life is short. hah

Beautiful Picture Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Vizio 65” M-Series display 4 week’s ago and waited to use it for a while before writing this review. In short, this display is outstanding and produces superior picture quality. I already owned a Vizio 55” P-Series display and this M-Series display is every bit as superior as that of the P-Series.
Set-up of the display is extremely simple. Connecting to my WiFi source was extremely easy with no problems encountered. I have this display connected to a Vizio surround sound system as the output source for sound and the pairing of the two systems was easy and seamless. The set-up of this display could not have been any easier or simple.
The design of this display is sleek and simple with elegant lines and high-quality finishes. This display has the look of a much more expensive display.
The picture quality is simply the best of any tv or display I have ever owned. I prefer a more vivid setting, so I adjusted the picture setting to Vivid and the colors on this display just jump off the screen. The black levels are completely black. I can detect no motion distortion in watching sporting events. I went to a Best Buy to see the picture quality difference between this Vizio display and other higher-priced 4K displays. At my local Best Buy Store, they had an M-Series display set-up between Two significantly higher priced competitor’s displays. I could not detect any lesser picture quality in the M-Series compared to the other two much higher priced displays. One would have to go to a way more expensive OLED display in order to get picture quality that is better than the picture quality of the M-Series display and, even then, the quality difference is minimal.
The set-up and use of ChromeCast on this display is very easy and performs exceptionally. However, in the spirit of full disclosure, I already had another device that I use to access internet content and I use that to stream WiFi content onto this display. So, other than to test ChromeCast on this display, I do not regularly use this feature.
Simply stated, there is no better display on the market at this price point than this Vizio 65” M-Series display.

Amazing upgrade from their 2014 model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the M70-C3 from 2014 which is a 4K set and was their top of the line model back then. Here we are in 2014 and I didn't think I'd be upgrading so soon, but here we are :)
This 2017 model, while not the top of the line (that is reserved for the P-series), it blows the 2014 model away. Despite being 5" smaller it was worth the upgrade!
The picture quality is superb when you have the right source material to take advantage of 4K and HDR. While streaming content is relatively sparse, Netflix supports it on many titles including the newest season (season 2) of Stranger Things. Apple also has lots of 4K movies, including La La Land which I rewatched with my wife.
In all cases, we were totally amazed at the benefit of HDR. The colors were vivid and the dynamic range between the darkest and the lightest parts of the scenes were magical. I know this sounds ostentatious, but it really is terrific.
This alone would make us recommend the TV but the features don't end there. It supports Google Chromecast built in, which is super handy to "cast" videos from your mobile phone to your TV. Think of it like AirPlay but Google's version. Even if you have an iOS device, many apps such as YouTube support Chromecast. So we were able to easily have friends over and take turns playing amusing videos from YouTube on the big screen. Much more convenient than trying to use the built-in YouTube app and browsing with the television remote.
Lastly, I also loved the Google Home integration. I didn't expect to like this, but I really did. After a few mishaps setting the integration up, it was easy to tell Google Home to turn the TV on and do some basic commands. We haven't explored it much yet, but it was handy to have our daughter be able to turn the TV on with her voice. We felt like we were living in the future and looked like heroes to her :P
All in all, a fantastic upgrade for us despite it just being 3 years newer. Highly recommended!

Performance,Easy Setup,Great Picture and Features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Packing :
*************
Nicely packed with all protection for the TV with heavy duty foam blocks. It comes with the V-Shaped sturdy Metal stands/Feet packed separately .Also includes a small remote control with 2 AAA batteries included and quick start guide manual for doing the setup.Except for Power Cord there are no other cables provided.
Exterior/Design :
**********************
It looks elegant with a nice simple design and with a silver color shiny textured finish on the sides/edge of the screen gives it a classy look and adds a subtle bit of style. As I already have Vizio Sound bar system , it blended well for my room/surroundings and settings.Believe me!! Screen looks really big when unpacked. And for the 65 inch screen size , It does not have that much weight to it.But if you are planning to mount it on your wall , make sure you have got secure anchors .
Remote is small with all necessary buttons for doing basic functions and to navigate the M65's menus(only drawback is it is not backlit/illuminated)
Connections
*****************
Power connector is on the right side and all connections and controls are located either on the left side or back of the M65.This model M65-E0 is well equipped to handle all your components/devices to connect with.
It comes with Four HDMI ports (One at the side and Three at the back) , Two USB inputs and hybrid composite/component inputs(RCA Audio and Video, Ethernet ,Optical Digital output ) .HDMI ports are labelled as 1,2,3,4 and HDMI 1 is the one which offers ARC support for connection to receivers and soundbars and allows to use one remote for connected devices.Small buttons are provided for Power , Input and Volume Up/Down closer to the left edge of TV.
Only thing it lacks is a common coaxial jack as it doesn;t include TV Tuner. So in case you want to see local channels- you may need a separate box/tuner for that
Setup :
***********
As it comes with separate feet for a stand, make sure the surface on which you place it (in case you are not mounting it) is large enough to hold both at once, especially since the feet on the M65 are located close to the edges.
As I already have Smartcast App downloaded on my Android phone - TV Setup was simple and speedy, just follow the instructions given in the quick guide . As an alternative you can also use Remote Control for doing the setup and the display asks all the right questions to get you started in no time, from picture preference to network connection. It took me roughly 15 minutes to complete the setup of the display (as it took some time to update the firmware/software on my TV to the latest version during the initial setup)
As a note - you can access the user manual on TV itself using the remote and choosing the menu option .
Features/Options/Picture Quality :
******************************************
The picture is clear and very vivid and when properly calibrated, it looks fantastic!.
This M65 4K panel can show an impressive color range when displaying high dynamic range (HDR) content , has strong contrast and great blacks/shadow detail.
Massive screen has good uniformity in any lighting and color accuracy is quite impressive/well balanced with excellent all-around picture quality. Can handle Dolby vision/HDR10 formats ,has low motion blur and better local dimming with full UHD capability.
It has decent speakers but not the greatest sound quality , would recommend having a soundbar system attached to it.Sound was much improved using a 5.1 Vizio soundbar system, which really provides an awesome experience in sound quality for movies, shows and music.
Although this TV is preloaded/comes with standard apps like Netflix , Amazon Video etc to stream/watch but this Display has smartcast system i.e. built-in google chromecast enabling to cast any compatible app from your phone/tablet directly to the TV. Used Youtube/Netflix app on my mobile phone to cast the 4K videos on the big screen which looked stunning. Also you can mirror your android phone using the Google Home app and can even control it using Google Home speaker.
Using the Vizio Smartcast app, you can power on/off , control volume, change settings/input methods/picture modes of your display with ease and also can search for compatible content .
This M65-E0 packs in just about everything you could possibly want in a full array LED display in regards to picture quality, performance , features, and price and Overall this TV definitely meets my expectations!!.

A 4K HDR Monster That Won't Eat Your Whole Wallet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right away, I have to say that the M65-E0 is one of the best displays i've ever seen. I chose to adjust the calibration settings specifically for HDR content. Playing games on a brand new Xbox One X in 4k HDR looked absolutely beautiful, almost as if I could reach out and let the colors melt onto my finger tips. The extremely high contract and smooth frame rate were everything I could ever want, and there was no noticeable input lag at all.
Moving on to streaming, I tested Netflix, Amazon, and Vudu which all show on the Smartcast screen and are ready to be use. I was a little surprised that youtube wasn't on the list of built in apps, but that wasn't a problem since I could easily use Smartcast to stream Youtube from my phone or tablet right to the screen. The remote has dedicated buttons for easy access. Chromecast worked as expected for streaming Youtube via mobile phones, or browser tabs from my computer. I also tested streaming 4k HDR content via Plex on the new Xbox One X, which also worked flawlessly.
Overall i'm extremely happy with the M65-E0 and i'm really impressed at what Vizio is able to offer for this price point. I really can't wait to see what they have in store for the holiday season. I'll be telling my family to snag a new M series Vizio.

Great Picture!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
When my VIZIO SmartCast™ M-Series™ 65" Class Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus™ Display | M65-E0 first arrived my husband and I put the feet stands on (as per the directions make sure you have help as this would not be very easy to do with one person). Then I plugged it in right away to test it and make sure it worked. The first screen upon turning it on wants to check for updates and says it should not take more then 10 minutes and not to turn the T.V off. After about an hour of it trying to update I gave up and turned it off, waited a few minutes then tried again. Within two minutes it was good to go. The picture is amazing and the sound quality isn't bad either. Vizio's SmartCast feature is easy to use and connects to Wi-Fi without issues. I do however wish you could use the apps straight off the T.V. without your smartphone but it's still a very nice feature. The only con I see is there is only one port with HDR, may not be a con to you if you have no desire to hookup anything else with HDR. Overall this is a GREAT T.V !!!!

All The Latest 4K HDR Features Best Value Today

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This TV comes with all the latest features that this tech guy loves. It has 4K and HDR. Its supports both the HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR Standards. Its got Chromecast built in so that you can cast content to the screen from most video apps on the market. They have made some significant improvements to the M series for 2017, including upping the brightness and giving it a wide color gamut. The image quality on this screen is incredible. The TV has 32 local dimming zones, so that there can be really bright sections and really dark sections on the screen at the same time. Altogether, the 4K, HDR, and local dimming give you an amazing nextgen video viewing experience. Plus Chromecast built in makes it easy to play your favorite content.

HDMI input is dead, no picture

Verified Purchase:Yes
I bought this a few weeks ago and received two weeks ago. I just set up this new TV with a new Spectrum carrier and no picture would come up, we first assumed the HDMI cable I had was bad, the technician put his new one on TV and still no picture. he ran a test and said my HDMI input is dead. He had to use a different input other than HDMI which he said " this will work but you will not get the same quality as you would with HDMI. This is makes five Vizio TV's I have purchased over the years, the second I ordered straight from Vizio. I am so disappointed in the Vizio quality control, this TV should have been checked out before sending it to me. but obviously wasn't.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
