[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture is great and is much cheaper than many comparable TVs on the market. My only complaint is I wish the remote control had Netflix and other smart feature buttons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new M-Series TV reviewed here replaced our existing 65-inch Vizio in the living room (we moved that into the bedroom). We use the new Vizio as our main entertainment source - cable, xbox one, streaming (Netflix, HULU, etc.) , and ChromeCast sources. It’s especially cool to ChromeCast Spotify as you can see the song and album that are playing on the TV while listening. That took me by surprise the first time I connected Spotify to the TV. Across all sources, the performance of this TV has been excellent. We watch a lot Ice Hockey and I’m always focused on the picture quality watching the puck. On other TVs I’ve seen the puck move across the screen in jagged motions which is really annoying. On the Vizio TVs I’ve not seen that issue. I’m also really concerned about the quality of video games as I’m a huge gamer. I can say the Vizio doesn’t disappoint. I was also impressed with the new updated interactive menu system – it’s more intuitive and easier to navigate compared to the last generation UI. I’m also a fan of the new remote control as it’s more streamlined compared to the last.
We use this TV with the 45” Vizio 5.1 sound bar system. What I really appreciate is the support for an HDMI-ARC (Audio Return Channel) connection on the TV. This allows me to use one remote for all of my connected devices. The Vizio TV also recognizes the sound bar automatically with the ARC connection and turns off the TV speaks so you don’t have to deal with that. The small touches really make me appreciate the work of Vizio’s engineers. They go the extra mile to provide an excellent user experience.

Amazing Picture Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxing this rather large TV was simple. Not a lot of wasted packing material was nice. Ok, right off the top this TV has an amazing picture. The 4K, HDR resolution is really next level. I’m no poet so it’s a little hard to put into words but the contrasts between the deep true blacks and the millions of vivid bright colors is poetic. Setup is ridiculously easy using the SmartCast app and your phone. If that’s not your thing setup is just as easy using the included remote. The really cool thing about this Smart TV is the SmartCast app bringing you tons of content. With my Netflix subscription I can actually get 4K content with the SmartCast app. Pretty cool to actually watch 4K on a 4K TV.

A picture unlike any other

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the Vizio Smartcast™ M-Series 65” Class Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus™. My purchased was delivered via carrier and arrived in a rugged outer shipping box made of thick corrugated cardboard. Isolating the product box from the shipping box were heavy duty foam blocks. I note this because another flat screen TV I purchased was shipped in the product box only, and it arrived with a horrifically shattered screen. By the way, this damaged TV was not shipped by VIZIO, but some online bargain outfit. As with all my VIZIO TV’s (this is my 6th VIZIO), it comes straight out of the box with a spectacular picture. I have owned VIZIO TV’s since 2008 and all of them still work! I’ve given 2 of them to my sons as hand-me-downs. My oldest TV miraculously survived a burglary, and was returned in good working order, even though the perp hauled it out the window and was carrying it by himself by hand. Still working too. I have all of my TV’s are on wall mounts, and the M-Series is likewise is on a wall mount in my 20’x14’ living room. I had read a review of one user telling of difficulty installing screws in the VESA mounting holes, and I have never had that problem on any of my VIZIO TV’s. While this is not a light [weight] piece, it is very light considering its mass. Nonetheless, it is definitely a 2-person unboxing and installation project. The system setup and firmware update time can vary, due to what I believe to be the speed of your internet service. The VIZIO TV’s I set up with 220mps service completed faster than this last setup I did with a downgraded 65mps service I now have. It takes about 15 minutes or so, so I kept myself busy picking up all the packing materials discarded during the unboxing process. I prefer the app interface on my new VIZIO much better than the clunky app interfaces that come with my [older] Blu-ray disk players. Very smooth, responsive, and navigable. I absolutely love the Smartcast™ feature. We have smartphones and a touchpad that we cast with, which are a little more nimble than the built-in app of the TV, but that is just a function of the device you are choosing to use to select streaming services from. Overall, I am happy with the ability to browse the various apps for streaming content. Something I would like to mention is the HDMI cables that I am using. Prior to obtaining the 65” M-Series, I purchased cables for my 60” E-Series and my 50” E-Series. Both models are 4K UHDTV. The cables I purchased support 4K, are Active, 3D compatible, Audio Return Channel (ARC), support Deep Color, and are 18 Gbps speed rated. These cables really brought out the definition and color. It also made it possible to operate with a single remote, the TV that has a 3.1 sound bar system. Not all HDMI cables are the same, so if you want to optimize your viewing experience, I suggest you buy cables that are up to the job. I also read in reviews that some users have had issues with buzzing and clicking noises, even when they received warranty replacements. On my older 1080p VIZIO, I experienced buzzing when I moved it to the guest bedroom. I was using a no frills HDMI cable, so I switched it out with a cable that has ferrite cores. Voilà, the buzzing was eliminated! Now, to the picture experience: the color is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Brilliant hues in tones I don’t think I’ve ever seen before on a television. Deep, even blacks (not splotchy). Dark scenes are remarkably clear and defined (even better than movie theater technology, I think). I’m 58 years old, and sometimes scenes filmed in dark surroundings don’t reveal enough detail for me to appreciate what the camera is presenting. I watched movies on the Vivid picture mode to make the color really pop. The brightness and intensity of color was noticeably higher, yet it was not harsh on the eyes. It has great clarity even when bright ambient light is present. The E-Series has up to 16 different dimming zones, while the M-Series has 32 different dimming zones, and that difference adds to the definition and clarity of the picture, and truer blacks. The large screen format envelopes you in an immersive viewing experience. I switched to the Game picture mode to watch my NBA team play. I could smell the maple hardwood court, and taste the high gloss polyurethane finish of the basketball court (Hyperbole? Maybe). One of the commercials featured a long-haired dachshund dog, and I could feel the softness of the hair. Funny how a picture that great can react with your other senses. My TV’s are connected via wireless using 5 GHz channel and I’ve only seen it buffer one time (the wife watches a lot of streaming content). My router is about 30 feet away from this television. As for the viewing angle, I kept moving to the side but never lost sight of the image. Obviously I lost a lot of the color information, but I could still see a discernible image. One nit-picky Con: access to the jacks on the backside of the monitor. They are located in a recess that can often be quite a bother inserting the plugs for the various cabling. It's too tight of a space to get fingers, plug and cable in easily. The optical cable jack being the most vexing. You get what you pay for—as they say—and this M-Series which is one class lower than VIZIO’s highest end, is definitely an upgrade in experience. I can’t imagine how much better a picture can get than this, but if you’re looking for a high end experience, this is definitely that and more in the VIZIO Smartcast™ M-Series 65” Class Ultra HD HDR XLED Plus™. And most importantly, my wife loves it!
