This is probably the best set ever, i got this recommended by a friend of mine and i love it to bits! the experience needed to build this isnt alot although there were unclear parts in the instruction i did eventually figure it out! furthermore is the overall construction Very sturdy and the end result is Absolutely amazing, a build of 1 meter is definetly something you would be proud of showing to your friends! even my dad was jeaulous.

One the best ever Lego models

I have always followed the Apollo missions (I remember them well). So to see a model of the Saturn V was a delight and a must have item.
Having purchased the model and got it home I was surprised how slim the booklet was, but the instructions were plain and clear. A nice touch on the vintage look too.
Anyway on starting out I liked the fact that it was in lots of parts (12). This made knolling easier and the number of different parts in play at any one time more manageable.
After the first bag I was a little puzzled by what I had built, but the second bag showed that this was just an internal skeleton.
After this I limited myself to 1 bag in a session as I wanted to enjoy the build.
Finally the whole thing came together. There were some ingenious methods used to get the round shape of the rocket without the use of massive pre-moulded shapes.
I will not say this is the easiest build and that it is is not suitable for the younger person as there are lots of little parts that need to be assembled into larger parts and then carefully slotted into main model. That said if you follow the instructions carefully then it goes together well.
The final product has a nice touch in that it comes with a set of display stands and a couple of little display pieces to show how big the rocket was compared to the crew and their accommodation.
I my humble opinion this is without doubt the best Lego kit I have ever owned and I do have all the big Technic models to compare it against. It takes pride of place in my collection.
Congratulations to the designers.
(can we have a similar model of the Shuttle please?)

Probably Lego's all-time best.

This set is an absolute home run. First, the build was clearly designed with user-friendliness in mind. Internal pieces are generally cast in different colors making them easy to pick out of a tray and limiting the amount of hunting you'll do. (I've seen this to some extent on other sets, but the designers here have taken it to a very helpful extreme.)
The build also features some truly clever techniques for rendering this huge model sturdy enough to play with. The three stages are substantial and solid, and the connectors locking them together are likewise sturdy.
The finished model is gorgeous, accurate, and HUGE--it towers over both the Disney Castle and Orthanc on my shelf. The only thing I regret is not getting two while it was readily available, so that I could display one assembled and another in stages.
I hope Lego will make this available again--it would be a shame for so many to miss out on what is very likely the best set Lego's ever made because it was only manufactured in limited numbers the first time around.

Thats the product who pulled me back into lego.
Its amazing and I love it being a space entusiast myself.
Too bad I bought only one. I should have taken a second for collection and eventual re-sell.
Keep churning out these amazing pieces please!

Fantastic model

The rocket is amazing. Very detailed, very sturdy, great instructions. It can stand on its own but also has props for standing it sideways. Only ~3 times during construction was I actually confused about how to build it (excluding the 1 piece that I left in the bag and concern about the 21 extra small pieces I have. One of the extras I have is a 4th astronaut, I really hope he brought a sack lunch as this is a 195 hour mission and I only packed for 3.

Saturn V is an outstanding LEGO set!

Plenty of reviews and pics on this set already, but I must say it's really an exceptional set. I wish all LEGO sets were priced like this one. It's an awesome value, and the design is truly remarkable.
Early on in the build, I thought the Saturn V might not be all that impressive, but boy, was I wrong. What started off a bit awkward quickly took off into an extremely stable, extremely impressive and accurate final product. For the price, it's hard to argue that this isn't the best-priced LEGO set on the market. It's that good. And it's MASSIVE!
I'd love to see more of these sets that are both priced this well, and that rival actual model building when it comes to the final result. LEGO's really firing on all cylinders lately, and this set may be the best example of it yet.
Just like Voltron... Give me more of this quality at this price point, and I'll be back over and over!
