Buy Buy Buy. You will not regret buying!

I'm adding to the volumes of reviews amazed at the solid build construction and the ingenious techniques used to assemble this stunning model of the Saturn V. I haven't built a Lego set myself in decades although I've bought many sets for my kids, nephews and nieces. That being said, this is a set for older teens and adults. I have to confess i'm old enough to remember childhood memories of some of the later Apollo flights. A magical time in the US. This brings back fond recollections. PROS: Stunningly intelligent build with a minimum of studs exposed on the final product. Ingenious how you can tuck the lunar lander inside the 3rd stage housing ( i think it's the 3rd stage). It's a heavy rocket and building it makes you appreciate how well it was designed. CONS: None really. Well worth the price. Only con would be that they clearly did not make enough.

The greatest Lego set EVER!

For months now, I have been desperate to get this set, until I did a few days ago. And it is probably the best Lego purchase I've ever made.
The build stage was very fun and enjoyable. Only a few parts of the build phase were actually repetitive but apart from those few things, every other part was unique.
The structure in this rocket is phenomenal. The only places where is feels quite susceptible to breaking is where the stages all link together, the fins on the bottom of the S-IC Stage and a bit of the Launch Escape Tower. Just to give you insight into the stage connections, if you hold the S-IC stage, with all the other stages connected, and you hold it at an almost horizontal angle, one of the stages are likely to fall off. But it's nothing significant for this set.
This set offers a lot to play with. As I said previously, the stages can disconnect allowing for you to simulate a launch or just explore the set in detail. you can replace the Launch Escape Tower and the 'shrouding' for the Apollo Command Module and replace it with the actual Apollo Command Module piece which is included in with one of the dioramas in this set, where the Command Module splashes down. The other diorama in this set is of the moon landing where you can have Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin (or any other astronaut that landed on the moon) on the moon with the American flag (a 2x1 translucent plate with the flag printed for scale purposes). The moon diorama also comes with the Lunar Lander that can also be stored in the shrouding between S-IVB Stage and the Apollo Service Module.
The detail put into this set just blows me away. You get lots of pieces with prints on them and there are NO stickers! They also put a lot of details on the side of fuel pipes and they have even included the detail of the grills where there is space between the tanks. And remember, this isn't greeble, these all had a role and a function on the rocket.
The Lego Saturn V can be used to educate people on how the real rocket worked. As I said before, all the details had a function on the real thing which makes this set a very good way of teaching people about the Saturn V.
To conclude, I 100% think this is the greatest Lego set EVER! It is definitely worth it's price, makes for a good model, plays well and looks amazing. You can't go wrong with choosing to buy this set.

Saturn V Rocket is Stratospheric

I think this is by far and away the best Lego set I have ever owned.
The rocket is phenomenal. It's hight and quality really shine through and it it a pleasure to own. I can imagine it being a talking point for any visitor to my home.
What really impresses me is the attention to detail and the fact there are no stickers. I cant remeber owning a Lego set that has printed parts before.
I'd love to see a crawler designed to scale for this model if at all possible. I'd also love to see high quailty real world space ships produced by the talented team behind this model.
I also think this set has a wonderful educational element to it and is a great tool to show how brave the astronauts were during the greatest adventure in human history.
1969 pieces was a lvely nod to the Apollo 11 mission by the way.
One small step for Lego, One giant leap for Legokind...
I just wish I could have another to store away. This will sell out fast!

Best Lego set ever

This set was incredible. Lots of printed parts which is also nice. After building the model I tore it apart and made a few modifications. I hated hiding those large curved pieces inside the model so I came up with an alternative way of doing it. And of course the model wasn’t complete without adding a crawler and tower. All in all this was a great build. I was also amazed at how sturdy it was.

Really worth the effort to get one

I'm just going to throw in a bunch of stuff I liked about my experience with the set and some notes about it
There are a few neat things about this set I would like to point out, The Saturn V rocket was launched in 1969, so they managed to make it have 1969 pieces, I think its a good example to show the level of detail in it, I built it as fast as I could I did make a few mistakes that I corrected when I realized I made them, but building at a normal pace you probably wont make a mistake. there are no stickers which is a good thing for most people like me, and mine came with a extra astronaut which I am pretty happy about. :)
Trying to obtain a Saturn V rocket
The amount of times I would refresh the page checking if its available a day was about once every hour or two, It was in stock from as far as I know 2-4 hours, then sold out, a little later the same day it came back into stock and sold out again, so if you miss it one day you may not of missed it for the day, my best suggestion is to bookmark the product page and every time you open a tab in your browser open the bookmark to see if its back yet, make it a habit, it makes it more satisfying when you complete your order knowing you don't have to wait until the next batch, I hope this review was helpful for you and I hope my advice helps you get one too. :D

Dream come true

I visited the Houston Space Center when I was 7 or 8 years old and that trip has some of the strongest memories of my life at that age. I remember seeing the Saturn V rocket there and wishing I could have a toy of that rocket with all of the different stages, the command module, and the lunar lander.
Fast forward 24-25 years and now I not only have that toy, but I got to build it out of LEGO. This is the coolest LEGO set I have ever built. The size and scope of the set are perfect for capturing the magnificence of this rocket and the achievement it represents. The details that went into designing each section of the rocket are subtle, yet superb. The construction of the rocket made for a very interesting build that also looked great as a final product. Last but certainly not least, NO STICKERS!!!!
This set fulfills a childhood dream of mine, and I do not think LEGO could have done a better job implementing it.

I was a mechanic on the test stand for the first stage which was the test firing of the F-1 engines. I bought this rocket because seeing it brought back so many memories. I was amazed when I saw it finished. It is everything I hoped it would be.

Outstanding Model

This set has resulted in an amazing model of the SaturnV that not only looks good standing upright, or resting on its supports, but - thanks to the modular nature of each rocket stage - can be separated into each section and used to really show just how the journey to and from the moon was achieved. Possibly the best Lego set that has ever been released.
