One of the Best LEGO Space Sets Ever Made!

This rocket is amazing! It literally towers a meter tall and is an exceptional display/play set. It was a enjoyable challenge to build and I believe it was worth every minute of my time.
I have been wanting the Saturn V for so long and was finally able to get my hands on it a couple weeks ago. This piece (or pieces) of NASA history recreated in LEGO form is timeless. I will be very sad when it is discontinued. We need way more LEGO Space sets made, both real-life like NASA and fantasy like Space Police.
Once again great set!

I enjoy building Legos, and the bigger the better. This set is extremely fun to build (I think that building is most fun when you attempt to build as fast as possible), looks amazing, and has so many incredible details that will please the inner space nerd in everyone (the piece count is the year a Saturn V rocket carried the Apollo 11 mission). I got this set to celebrate man landing on the moon 50 years ago, and I was not disappointed :^)

What an amazing set

We had purchased a non-lego set for my 9 year old son which I ended up putting together and it was a PAIN. I purchased this set for me but my son ended up putting most of it together. The instructions are amazing and lightyears ahead of non-lego brands. This set is HUGE and I love it. Really has to be one of the best sets in existence.

Amazing detail

I am always impressed with the quality of the LEGO Ideas sets -- this is my sixth -- but the Saturn V really blew me away. The designers took a good fan design and through a lot of innovative building techniques, made it so much more detailed and truer to the original rocket. Exterior piping, engine detail, and great printed graphics, and the way the side panels are built with the studs facing out means this build avoids the "big stack of bricks" look. And the completed main model has only 16 studs showing when it's all together (17 if you count the top of the escape tower).
It is a bit complicated to put together, and if you don't take the time to ensure the sides are firmly put together, it's very difficult to go back and redo. Also, when I opened it up, the last bag had ripped open in the box and I had to put that bit (CM/SM/LEM, stands) together first just to make sure nothing was missing.
That being said, the main problem I have with this now is that I don't have a large enough place in the house to display it...but I'll find a way. Good set, I highly recommend it.

Amazing detail and value

This is simply an amazing set. It turned out to be much larger and more intricate than I had imagined which only added to the fun . The final product is surprisingly sturdy and easy to handle and the level of detail is incredible.
I have it now displayed in my office. Every visitor stops to admire it and is surprised to discover it is made from Lego and comments on the level of detail and scale.

LEGO Ideas has brought us some incredible sets, but none as intricate and stunning as the NASA Apollo Saturn V. For the price to piece ratio (not to mention the volume of the build) you are getting an incredible value. The build experience is excellent, and though intimidating, the designers made sure the complex build could be assembled in a simple and entertaining way. The display value speaks for itself, but the set also pays tribute to the ingenious design of the actual rocket, where it is able to transform into all of the different stages of the mission. The NASA Apollo Saturn V is the perfect set for teenagers, adults, collectors and space fans.

I purchased this for my 10yr old niece that needed a set with a little more of a challenge and she got it. She just couldn’t put it down. No tv no tablet just her and her bricks. Breaks included meals and going to the swimming pool and it was all she could talk about when she wasn’t building she was excited how it was coming together. Absolutely positively an amazing experience and a fun build.
