Houston...we don't have a problem

This was my first Lego build ever. After sorting out and looking at almost 2k pieces I thought this will take weeks to build. Once I started, Boom...I couldn't stop. 7 days later she was done. Now I'm hooked. Next came the launch tower (not Lego) but calling it a Lego anyway. What a nightmare with 3k pieces. Now with that it shows my beautiful Lego Saturn V like it's ready to launch to the moon. Now ready for another Lego challenge. No more building plastic model kits sniffing glue and paint fumes!

This was my third Lego build. I was surprised to see how many parts went into building each stage of the rocket. The Lego design team did a good job building things in such a way that overall construction is very stable. One minor thing you need to pay attention to is applying the outer shell of the rocket. The taller I made the rocket the more unstable it became. It turns out that I applied the initial outer shell 1 stud too high at the base of the rocket. It took me half an hour to undo and correct it. Once this correction was made, the rocket became very stable. Overall I enjoyed the build and it wasn't too difficult. The rocket does come with a mini moon lander. However, I decided to pair the rocket with its sister Lego model. The two models look great together

This set is amazing! I first saw it in a LEGO catalogue, but didn't realize how large it really was until I finished the build. It's huge! The detachable stages and microfigs, plus the lunar orbiter and lunar lander are great too. The overall accuracy compared to the real rocket is really good too. On the downside, the top or third stage sometimes falls off when held upside down or horizontally. Overall though, the set is very secure. A great set!

After 50 years, building Lego Blocks again. Rocket was big fun. Time doesn't matter on build for me I get done what I get done.
One mistake I made along the way, step 155. Used only 1 x 4 when should have used 2 x 4 part 61401. Didn't discover it till step 236. It only took a 1/2 hour to disassemble and reassembled.
Step 58 ish, a rubber band helped alignment.

Couldn't stop until it was done...

I haven't built a LEGO set in decades but couldn't pass up this model. I brought it home and put it together in one night. The build was fairly simple to follow, there were only two spots that took some pondering to figure out.
I love the attention to detail and care the designers put into this model. Their insistence on having each module be a separate unit makes this model so much more interesting than if it was just the complete rocket on its own. It shows their love of Saturn V and I appreciate that immensely.
An all around great experience!

This Lego set was the best set ever!! I loved it the first time I saw it. I showed it to my dad and he was very suprised how cool was it and how tall it was. Thank you sooo much Lego for making this! Again I love this set!

Good, Fun Build

I was extremely exited to build this set and was very glad that it lived up to its expectations. The build didn’t take me as long as I originally thought and was fun. My only complaint is that it is quite flimsy and I almost broke it several times moving it from one place to the next. Overall it’s not a big problem because I am only using it for display. Great build for a LEGO veteran
