Firstly I am not a huge Lego fan in that I don't build many models, I pick occasional models that appeal to me.
A few years ago my partner and I had a holiday to the US which included an amazing trip to NASA in Houston where we had the opportunity to see the real Saturn V on display, so as soon as I heard that Lego were producing a model it was on my radar to buy.
We had great fun making the model over two days.
The instructions were, as usual with Lego, straight forward and easy to follow. We only has a few small errors that required a little dismantling to fix, usually our fault for not checking the instructions properly.
The model is satisfyingly sturdy and well balanced, when standing upright it doesn't feel like it is going to fall over on its own.
All in all Saturn V has been a great model to build, to be honest I fell a little sad when we finished it.

Outstanding! Now how about a launch tower...

This purschase was a birthday gift for my son. We both loved it! The detail is excellent. The build was a bit challenging for his 8-year-old hands, but we worked it together and it was fine. The model is *very* solid, with the exception of the fins and engine bells on the first stage and the slanting adapters from stages 2 to 3. Its highly playable, not just something to sit on display.
And I agree with my son - when is the launch tower coming out to match this great model? Those little blue stands are a bit of a tease. We want the entire tower!

Apollo Saturn V

I'm in my 50's and was so excited when this product was announced and could not wait to build it. I grew up during the Apollo missions and this really was fun showing my kids how the missions were accomplished. I have it on display on the fireplace mantel separated into the different stages. Highly Recommended.

The kids have built many lego sets (I'd say "too many", but can you ever have "too many"?!).
This one, however, is "Dad's". Or so I thought.
We had a great time building this together over the span of a few evenings. Yes, even Dad got to build some.
We had a real "blast" with this set.
