It's over earth! I have the high ground!

Where do I begin? This set is by far my favorite Lego set to date. The Saturn V towers way above every set I own at 39 3/8" (1 Meter) tall. While building you must make sure to press the outside panels on very well, sometimes until you hear a load 'click'. The rocket is very sturdy and won't come apart on you while carrying it. This is the biggest set I own to date in both size and piece count (by 500 pieces), but I built is faster than other sets of the same price range because of the close symmetry around the rocket. I only have three complaints though: 1) the instructions were hard to follow when clipping the grill pieces onto to lower stage of the rocket, 2) the cone going up to the third stage is not a checkered pattern as on the real Saturn V, 3) when pulling apart the first and second stage, the third stage and command module usually go flying off the rocket because of how strong the connectors are holding the first and second stage together. Overall this set is amazing... props to the creators and to Lego for making the Ideas theme. This theme brings the Lego loving community closer and encourages people to build even more. After building this set and while lying in bed I thought an idea for a Lego Ideas set and of part of the design. I hope this theme never disappears so I will be able to buy the bricks, build, and submit my idea.

So much fun!

My 12yo daughter and I built this set together while watching the "When We Left Earth" documentary on the Apollo missions. The build was challenging, but not overly so. There was some repetition, which was to be expected. But we both had a blast building the rocket and watching it come together piece-by-piece while simultaneously learning about the Apollo missions. Now the rocket is proudly displayed in my home office!

Collect all the NASA sets

This was a challenging build and I had to go back and review what I already completed several times. It is an impressive model when finished. Now I'm looking for a display spot large enough to show it off. I have a collection of different NASA models, so this was a must have for me.

This is just a great build. Its challenging with little pieces intricately arranged (a fare bit are internal so are not actually seen in the final piece) but the pay-off is well worth it. A model I still look at with pride. I also got this for my Dad, who had great praise for it too. Definitely worth the purchase.

A Classic

I think this is one of the best Lego sets ever made. My 9 year old daughter assembled it herself over 3 days and the result is stunning. It is very sturdy and the details and scale are amazingly accurate, even allowing the 3 stages of the rocket to be cleanly separated. Having the lettering and images (USA flags) printed onto the surface rather than using decals is another huge plus. Best of all, we love how the assembled rocket looks more like a realistic model with a smooth finish rather than a cheap toy with Lego pegs showing. And at this price point it's a steal!

Super tall

Huge rocket. Really like the detail and the structure. I love the mini builds (lunar lander, command module) kinda wish the inside was a bit more detailed. Micro figures have a lot of detail. Looks great. Definitely worth it.

One Huge Leap For Lego!

We really need more sets like this, I mean the fun yet challenging build, the playability, the functionality, everything is just amazing!
My brother already had a Saturn V model but it wasn't Lego and I figured his would be a little taller than mine... But no! This is like maybe a foot taller or something! When my mom saw it her jaw dropped "that thing is huge!"
It over 3 feet tall, the assent stage can be removed from the base of the LM Wich I was not expecting.
The one thing I didn't like was the inside of the first stage, it just wasn't detailed at all. I'll post a picture.
