More, please.

Great set, fits perfectly with LEGO's mission as a science and technology educator. Looks great, and its size is most impressive. Hard to come by as stocks are bought up as soon as they arrive.
Which brings me to a heartfelt plea to LEGO: please, keep this set available for a bit longer. I have friends and colleagues who want to buy it but were unlucky. It's bad enough that we don't have real moon rockets anymore - but please, could we keep the brick ones?

Brilliant Piece of History and Engineering

This is a superbly engineered LEGO kit. It comes in numbered bags, and they are numbered in the sequence in which the kit is assembled. If you sort the parts out into bins and complete one bag at a time, the assembly is as straight forward as it is elegant. It is incredibly sound structurally, and the stages come apart and go back together again with no fear of damaging the assembled kit. Just like its designers meant it to.
There was a tremendous amount of thought put in to designing this kit, and as an aerospace engineer I give 5 stars to the design team. And it is a great touch to have 1969 parts to match the year Apollo 11 was launched. Cute.
As a kid during the moon shot I made countless versions of the Apollo and Saturn V rocket but always relied on imagination to transform a boxy looking rocket made out of limited types of parts into what was playing out on the World Stage. But this kit, once built, deserves a shelf of its own. Mine is displayed as it is displayed at the museum at Cape Canaveral.

EXCELLENT BUILD

I loved this build. I like the fact that the bricks were printed instead of stickers. I will gladly pay more for sets if this continues. This is a massive set for the money. I am a fan of all the space sets.

Excellent LEGO build

Received the Apollo Saturn V kit for Christmas for my office.
Hands down, my favorite build to date. A bit challenging at 1969 pieces, but well worth the extra time of assembly.
On the downside, 3 pieces were missing from the last bag. Fortunately those three pieces were part of the lunar module peripheral and didn’t affect or slow down the build of the main component.
I can only hope that LEGO will continue with the NASA theme and products. I would love to see a complex lunar rover and/or lunar module kit in the future.
Great product, LEGO. And OUTSTANDING value for this kit! Looks great in my office!

Missing pieces? Oh no! That's no fun. If those wayward pieces aren't just stuck in the packaging or hiding somewhere in your building space, we're here to help! Go to LEGO.com/Service and choose the "Bricks & Pieces" option to request replacement parts.

A Lego Masterpiece

I myself am a massive fan of the Lego Ideas theme, which allows people to submit ideas for potential future Lego sets. When this was announced to be the next Lego Ideas set, I remember the response was quite negative, and I am not one to judge, as I felt the same. I thought Lego made a mistake (I loved the Jonny Five project) and that this would be a set that would not be very popular. However, when the official images were revealed, this made it a highly sought after set, so sought after that over here in the UK it was placed on back order within a few hours of release. I ordered the set and it arrived 2 weeks later, and built it 2 weeks later as well.
I had seen images online about the build, people saying it is "The best Lego Ideas set ever made". I will admit, this build is very complex, but at the end, it is very rewarding. The photos doesn't give the set justice, you have to see it to believe how tall it is (1 metre tall, literally!). It is clear how the Lego group has driven up the piece count to match the year of the launch (very impressive!), however I found this just a little annoying as it I am a person who wants to build it as fast as possible and doesn't savour the moment. The micro astronauts are such an awesome touch to the set itself, and may I just also add, the instruction manual itself is awesome too with its old blueprint style layout on the front page.
I am truly impressed, if I could see myself a year ago I would call myself stupid for saying this set was a mistake, because it is easily one of the best sets of the year. While in my personal opinion it isn't the best of the Ideas line (such as the Delorean and Exo Suit), it is a set that can be loved by all fans of Lego. I recommend 100%!

This is my official first Lego set after I grew out of them from when I was a kid. Got to say it is an amazing product and an amazing build. The details of it are amazing and I'm actually glad Lego Ideas released this product and introduced me to fan made projects.
The details and design make it amazing of a build and well worth to any fan to own. If you want a good challenge this 1969 Lego set is well worth it.

What an amazing couple of days I had building this! It’s huge, and very detailed, and looks great in my living room! The pieces are divided into numbered bags that you open sequentially, so you won’t spend hours looking for the piece you need. And the micro-minifigure astronauts are so cute! Great display piece. All my friends are jealous :)

I have to say, Lego hit it on the head with this one.
I am a space scientist, so this was a no-brainer purchase. I had to have it. I wasn't even expecting much more than a shell because of the price. But this is one of the better kits to EVER come out of Lego. It's not just a hollow tube. There are fuel and engine assemblies inside - stages - and the lunar orbiter and landing module. Lego hit the price point perfect. This is also one of the most robust builds I have had from them. You can hold it out horizontally from the third stage with no fear of it falling apart! And yes, the stages come apart. I was so impressed with the build that rather than hiding it away on a shelf in my tucked away home office for no-one to see, I bought a shelf for the living room to put it on. I can't speak more highly of it. I hope they keep it in production and offer a Skylab minikit as an option while they gear up to design the SLS!
Well done Lego and the two young space enthusiast that originally designed it.
