Excellent model. Clear instructions to follow. Good playability, with the sections coming apart. It is a sizeable structure, making it a challenge to find somewhere to display it!

Awesome Build!

I bought this in June of 2017, and it has been sitting on a shelf, still in the box, waiting to be put together. The Millennium Falcon was first in line. I finally put it together today (January 6, 2019) and was I ever impressed!
This model uses crazy building techniques I have never seen before to get all the parts to fit together properly. Many of them blew my mind, especially the ridged section at the top of the second stage!
This model is much more suited to being on display rather than being played with, hence the 14+ age recommendation. That's not to say it is too fragile to handle. It is quite the opposite and surprisingly robust, especially considering the methods used to connect some of the parts. Most of the sketchy connections (ex. single stud clip holding a small sub-assembly) are used for cosmetic rather than structural parts. The UCS Millennium Falcon is very fragile by comparison.
The style and content of the instruction book's cover and preface give this set an Ultimate Collector's Edition vibe, which it really deserves.
So, I have the 21104 Curiosity Rover (from when Ideas was known as Cuusoo), the Saturn V, please ISS, become a set I can buy!!!

NASA Apollo Saturn V

I think this is one of the best LEGO sets yet! I really enjoyed the build. It was challenging, fun, and took me a few days to build. This set is HUGE, and surprisingly sturdy for how tall it is! The instructions were very comprehensive, and I like how you can read about the Apollo missions and fans that designed it! My only problem with it is that when the 1st rocket stage detaches from the 2nd stage, the 3rd stage always falls off. This is because the 1st and 2nd stages have four sets of clips to hold it together, but the 3rd stage only has two. I tried to modify it myself but it didn't work. Other than that it's an awesome set and great for display. Thank you Designer(s)

Thanks for your review! It's awesome to hear you're enjoying the set.
For the best results in disassembling your rocket, you'll always want to remove the top module first, as shown on pages 177 to 179 of your building instructions.

Team building at work

One of my co-workers purchased this set and brought it to work for everyone who wanted to help, to put a bag of it together (there are 14 bags in the set). It took several days as each of us built our parts during our lunch times. We're all very impressed by the quality of the finished build. This is an amazing set!

Amazing Scale Model!
on February 28, 2019

So, I have always been a big fan of the space program, especially Apollo. When I saw this kit, I decided I must have it at some point in my life. Well, my wife bought it for me for my recent birthday. Yes! This kit is amazing! Many of the parts are very specialized, and the way they all fit together is truly an engineering feat. The instruction book made assembly a breeze, and the way the parts were organized, 12 individual bags assembled in order, was brilliant. When completed, I struck me that this Saturn V replica looks more like a model than a Lego kit. It truly is a work of art and a tribute to one of the most amazing machines ever built.

200 Reviews and Counting
on August 28, 2017

Awesome set with every aspect just about right. Scale is right on, features are pretty darn close to real thing, sturdy, TALL, and let's not forget pieces = year launched. Could it realistically be any better than this? The build was challenging, repetitive, but satisfying. Hope this ends up being produced as long as tower bridge or VW camper van (6 or so years.) That pretty much wraps up this review.

Would love to see the launch pad as an additional set to go with this in the future.
On a side note: your comment process leaves much to be desired.

After waiting patiently for it to become available after constantly being out of stock. I finally got it as a birthday gift for myself.
The build is awesome and kinda makes one feel like they actually constructing a rocket to launch. The stages/module design and detail is impeccable. I abhor having to put stickers on bricks for a build, with that being said I was so relived that the USA bricks were printed on already. Over all I have zero complaints.
I highly recommend adding this to your collection.
