Good... but not for play

So I got this set for Christmas and it was a fun addictive build. The set uses a variety of techniques to build and comes with moon lander, thingy in the water and the ship itself. The ship is challenging. You have to pay close attention to the manual, the manual however IS FLIPPING UNIQUE. the cover literally is really cool, you would want to put it in a frame. Anyway the set is 1969 pieces and twelve bags. It’s funny, Apollo 11 (the ship that had Neil Armstrong and buzz aldrin) was launched in 1969. Anyway this is a huge set that is several feet tall. I recommend that you do not use this set for play, just put it on display, LEGO actually gave stands out in the set for the rocket to be put on.

As a space fan this was a must have. I bought one for my brother as well and he was also very happy with it.
The build is averagely difficult, for anyone who build 10+ sets, should not be a problem.
For display the model is perfect. For playing maybe a little too fragile.
For me the small additions (mood landing) are not necessary.

This was my first LEGO set in a very long time, and boy did i love it. The bricks felt super high quality, the build was super fun and the structure is extremely solid. There were no stickers, which is nice, amd the prints look super crisp amd sharp. The rocket is made to be taken apart with some ease but is still nice and solid. Its not really meant to play with so keep that in mind, but they give you some support to display it on its side and those are nice and sturdy as well.
I love this set, and i would recommend it 10/10

This set is durable, good to play with, and an amazing showcase set to. I don't know if the 6 hours is accurate, I'm just guessing (did not time it), but this set takes a pretty long time to build. It splits up into 3 big sections, and then 3 more tiny ones. It includes every stage of a mission, so you can reenact every part from lift off to splashing back into Earth. It includes 2 dioramas; one of being on the moon (which include to nanofigs) and one of landing back on Earth.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ignition sequence start

With the Apollo project being an early memory of mine and with this year's 50th anniversary of the landing I was looking for a keepsake to mark the occasion. Thought about one of the plastic kits but came across this and it's simply perfect. No stranger to Lego as my daughter has a load of Star wars ships including the UCS death star. Overall I found this quite straightforward to build but very enjoyable. The end result is awesome and surprisingly accurate with many of the finer details included. Just have to figure out how to display it now.

Good build, only annoying part is the radiators on the 2nd stage will not sit flush. Still looks amazing would look even better if it sat flush.

Thanks for your review. Those radiators will look a bit angled - a flat piece going around a circle is a little tricky! But if they're not sitting like shown in the pictures, that could be a sign that something's a little off in your build. The best thing to do in that case is a little rebuilding, double-checking that all the parts are in the exact right spot and that everything's pressed tightly together.

The attention to detail that the designer put into this set really shows an amount of love for their craft that is seldom seen. This set is spectacular and so much fun to build.
