Up to the Moon and Back

When this set was first introduced as the winner for the ideas line, I had no interest in purchasing the product. I was more entranced by the upcoming carousel; after all, the carousel could be integrated into my Lego city. I made a huge mistake not purchasing this when it was available for early preview via the VIP pass. I then made an even bigger mistake underestimating the details that this set comes with. My wife, knowing how much I like Lego, happened to be browsing the Lego website about two weeks ago just in time to snag a copy….about 15 minutes later the site became unavailable again. I must say, it was a pleasant surprise to see the nicely detailed box on the table. The rocket is even lovelier. Take your time a savor the build, as this is one of the more thought out designs. The printed tiles are also a very welcomed addition to continue to elevate the design as one of the best. I spent about a week completing this model with some minutes here and there. The design execution of the different sections is as intelligent as gets, the sections detach near close to the original design. The added value comes in the form of the 3 (including 1 extra) mini-mini-figures which also have a very nice detailed torso. Lego has always been generous in giving extras of newly minted pieces and for that, I thank them. I would say to hold out as long as you can and buy directly from Lego as the price point is certainly one of the reasons (among many) to purchase this set.

My favorite Lego set

I am an all around space and Lego nerd, and have been collecting Lego for ten years now. When I saw this set, I got it immediately and it was instantly my favorite. It is really good for demonstration of how the rocket worked, and is built very well. I have purposely dropped it from a few feet in the air, and only one or two pieces would fall off. It was super fun to build, and I have rebuilt it multiple times just for fun. I would highly recommend.

LEGO® NASA Apollo Saturn V

NASA Apollo Saturn V is the amazing demonstration to the kids, teenagers and all. I bought this for my son(6 Year old). He asked so many questions about the moon and then I decided to buy this for him.
He really enjoy building this as the instructions are so clear and its very easy to build.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It was done in stages because I did not have free time to build at one time. My 13 year old son has always been with me and the pleasure of this assembly has been shared, as on many other occasions when we have assembled the more than 100 Lego sets that we have at home. The piece is magnificent when all assembled and reminded me of the moment of man's first adventure on the Moon.

I thoroughly enjoyed this set! It was fun to build as well as read about. It dwarfs the shuttle set that i have. The only wish is for a docking tower or crawler to put it on. Great price for the set and pieces.
