Wow. This set is amazing.

I grew up loving NASA, especially the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. I used to build makeshift rockets and pretend they were the Saturn V, Command module, and Lunar module, but they were nothing compared to this. When I first saw this was coming I pretty much knew I had to have it. So let's get to the review.
First of all, this is a massive set at 1969 pcs and the finished height is about 1 meter so you need to have space for the build and display. Opening the box, you have 12 bags and the insruction manual. It's basically the size of small catalog. It does come with some information about the Apollo missions and the design(ers) of this set. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, even for someone like myself who has only built a couple of sets in the last 20 years. There were only a couple of places where I had a little confusion, but was able to figure it out. The bags are also neatly sorted by the steps so you only have to open one bag at a time, making things even easier. That being said, the build still went fairly quick considering the size. I didn't time it but I estimate about 5 hours total.
The finished product is absolutely stunning. The detail that went into this project is just fantastic. And as I said before, it is massive. Pictures don't really do it justice.
I only gave the play rating an average. However, mine will be for display. It is possible to play some, but the sheer size makes that a little more difficult. Also, the area around the Command module isn't as play frienldy as the other sections. That area doesn't easily detach like the bottom sections. I would recommend this mostly for display.
This product is definitely worth the money spent, especially for a Saturn V/Apollo fan such as myself. But I think anyone, other than someone who wanted a play set, would get a great value for the experience and quality of this prodiuct.
TL;DR review: This is a great set quality and value wise, unless you want it for play. It is still somewhat playable though. Overall, a fantastic set that I would definitely recommend.

"Impressive...Most Impressive..."- Darth V.

This Set is Amazing, Big, Detailed, Fun to build, and a great representation of an Era Long Over Due to be Reawakened as the 50th anniversary nears to celebrate one of our Nations Greatest Achievements of Landing on the Moon.
Hats off to the Designer and Lego Making this set a reality after years of voting and planning to release this epic Set through "Lego Ideas" platform.
The Build is modular so you can have multiple peeps building different sections if you want. Each section has fun building techniques to get the S.N.O.T. Appearance and every Detail about the Build looks well thought out to get the best possible representation of this massive Saturn V rocket. One of the more suprising details about this Build is that there are NO stickers...everything has a beatiful print, so much appreciated!
The playability is feasible because this is a Solid strong Build and "shooshing" isn't out of the question, plus all the stages can detach to reinact the entire moon mission from start to finish.(Great learning tool)
Over all, this is impressive to say the least to proudly display for years to come...Beatiful Job... I highly recommend this set!

Great Lego Model & Fun Build!
on June 5, 2017

This set quickly became one of my favorite sets to build! It is very simple yet challenging at parts to keep you in build! It is very sturdy and well structured, I can easily take it apart and put it together with worry that it will break apart. I'm a bit of a science geek too, so it's fun to use this model to explain how the moon landing happened and how it was possible with this rocket! My favorite part of this set is that they used 1969 lego pieces, how clever!!

The best Lego set ever

No lies, 30 years of experience and enthusiasm, this is the best. Never has there been this much detail and size at such a low price. Buy it now. Top o bottom it's great, fully functional, and durable. You can hold it in one hand by any stage and it won't fall apart.

I had been following this project for a couple years and was extremely happy when Lego announced that it would be produced. It was a very fun build and did not take nearly as long as I expected it would. The details are great, and the scale lunar module and mini-figs are perfect.
This is quite possibly my favorite space related lego set yet and I hope that Lego continues to develop more NASA sets in the future!

Amazing!

This is the first review I've ever posted on here, but I had to say something; this set is amazing. The build techniques used are like nothing I've seen in any other set. With 1969 pieces (like that number by the way) it's very good value for money. I spent about 4 hours building mine, but then I'm quite fast. You have to build some parts 4 times so I just repeat all the instructions 4 times before turning the page. I love the scale of this rocket and it helped me explain to my family just how big the real Saturn V was. If you're wondering whether to buy this just go for it, you won't be disappointed.

An Excellent Timepiece

Wow. Just wow. This is the best set ever. This piece of magnificence is very detailed, standing at 39.37 in. (100 cm). It comes in 7 stages, the S-IC first stage (the biggest), the S-II second stage, the S-IVB third stage, the lunar module, the service module, the command module, and the launch escape system. There is not a single detail missing on this ship. This ship is more time consuming than hard, meaning it isn't rocket science (but it is), but it is just time consuming. The hardest part is putting the outer shell on the first stage (I had to restrain myself from throwing it off the balcony), but it ends up being really sturdy. It comes with a miniature lunar module and command module, and 4 microfigures (one is extra; there were only three astronauts) that are very detailed. This set is more of a collector's set, not a play set, but I think you could play with it. The instruction book is really nice; it isn't stapled together like the average ones. Overall, this is a great set, and I am going to rest my fingers.
Keep Building!

Lego nailed this set.

This is my new favourite set. The price is excellent for the brick count - Lego should use this as a model for pricing future sets. The building techniques are really unique and it was an extremely interesting build. The details and scale are astonishing. Finally, you can tell that Lego spared no brick to make this model look as good as possible - the use of studless bricks to ensure the model is as sleek as it's name sake was on point. Very pleased.
