The most amazing set ever from Ideas. Playable, detailed and challenging to build. 1969 pieces to represent the 1969 Moon landing = mind blown

There’s A Reason This Model Is Hard To Find
on November 11, 2017

I was pretty excited to finally grab one of these kits and I wasn’t disappointed. It had its challenges though because of how fragile it was in some areas of each section which also added a little frustration and was why I only gave it 4 stars. Once complete it’s pretty cool but make sure you handle it carefully and with two hands not one or you may end up rebuilding it like I did when the sections separated and broke on the floor when they fell. They are designed to come apart and they do. All in all a very nice model.

Awesome kit for all us space nerds!

My family and I had a blast putting this together last night. It was challenging and rewarding. The scale of this model is awesome. I compared it to our 1:1 scale replica here at Marshall Space Flight Center and it is almost spot on. Very pleased with this one, thank you! The photo attached is Lego's 39" model in foreground and the 363' full scale Saturn V at the US Space and Rocket Center here in town.

An instant classic
on June 10, 2017

I can't add much more to what has already been said about this instant classic of a set, other than to ask when TLG are going to bring out an accompanying gantry/transporter for the Saturn V? I had a go at building one with pieces from Bucket Wheel Excacator, Super Star Destroyer, Simpsons House and some regular red (and yellow, when the red ran out!) bricks, and even if I do say so myself the result made the rocket look even better!
If you don't already own this set, please consider getting it. The more people who buy it, the higher chance there is TLG will bring out a gantry for it!

Best of the BEST

This is awesome !!
It is quite big and the price is totally acceptable (1969 PCS) although some parts don't fit perfectly and some not very stable.
Everyone who loves space should get one.
And the space shuttle I highly recommond as well. It is cool.
BTW, I am trying to build a launch pad for the Saturn V. Does any one have some suggestions?

Best build ever

Probably one of my all-time favorite builds. Super clever connections and techniques used. I have included a few pictures that speak to the complexity within the seemingly simple cylindrical design. Also, the thing is surprisingly sturdy. Dropped it from about 4 feet and broke into very distinct sections I was able to rebuild in about 5 minutes. Do not hesitate to add this to your collection.

Space Fan Boy Heaven

One of my top two favorite sets (the other being the Space Shuttle). They both site proudly on my desk at NASA's John Glenn Research Center. I can't wait for the accompanying mobile launch platform to get accepted and produced. It will make it that much more awesome. I also look forward to future releases (hopefully) of our new spacecraft, the SLS rocket and MPCV/Orion Crew Vehicle to get added to the family of space lego sets. Until then, how about adding the Mercury Redstone, Mercury Atlas, and Gemini Atlas vehicles? Perhaps do all the current launch vehicles, too, such as the Delta IV Heavy, Atlas V, Space-X Dragon, Orbital ATK Cygnus?

I love this rocket and when I saw it was going to be made and sold last year I was over the moon. I'm 32 and I have not built lego since I was a child. I was so engrossed during the build and reminded me of my childhood.
The rocket build quality is brilliant and very sturdy with the structures inside the rocket keeping it all together. The instruction manual with info on the saturn v, Apollo program and the creators is a nice touch.
I have always wanted a model of the saturn v but they are very expensive, now I have one and it being made from lego has made it even better and at a lower price.
Thank you to the creator and designers of the rocket and thank you to lego for making the rocket for sale and giving me memory of my childhood.
