This kit is incredible. It looks amazing. I am very impressed with how sturdy the design is and how well it exhibits the magnificence of the Saturn V.
It took me about 5 hours and I haven't built lego in years (like 20); further, I have never done anything this complex. The instructions were logical and for me, quite rewarding to apply as the inner engineering/design of this set is astonishing. Once built, the rocket (all 3 stages) is extremely rigid, intricately detailed, and can be displayed in numerous ways without sacrificing its integrity or beauty.
I lucked out and got two of them. Love the boxes but during ship each had a crimped lower right hand corner. One box had a 1/2 inch tear so that's the one I built. In the box I opened, I found 4 of the astronaut microfigs vice the 3 so that was an extra bonus.
Hard to find someone not in love with this kit. It is a classic already.

Blown Away!
on January 6, 2018

As a 'space nut' I decided I had to have one of these and was disappointed that it was out of stock when I tried to order. As soon as it was available again I placed my order and it arrived on 9 November 2017 - the fiftieth anniversary of the Saturn V's first flight. It was obviously meant to be!
Eager as I was to start building, I managed to hold off until Christmas Day and started off then. I was enjoying the build so much that I paced myself and only opened one parts bag each day. Twelve bags, twelve days, and I am blown away by the attention to detail. What most impressed me was the white tile with the black markings at Step 214. On the real thing this was the target of a high-speed camera that let the engineers determine the exact moment that the rocket began to move at lift-off. That Lego have gone to the trouble of printing the markings on this part shows how much they care about this product (and presumably their products in general). I posted photos of my building progress on a scale modellers forum and everyone has been very impressed. And the advantage over a plastic kit is that I can take the model apart and build it all over again!

The Eyes of the World Are Now Looking to Space...

This is an exceptional model. With 1,969 pieces, and an innovating build, this set looks as awesome and beautiful as it's prototype. The build is really sturdy with a great play and display value. For the money the size and amount of pieces is really great too and there are no stickers, which is nice.
I would recommened this set to anyone, space fanatics and Lego enthusiasts alike.

Fun to build

I had a great time building this set with my 4 year old son. There are a lot of sub assemblies that you need to build 2 to 4 times so he was able to help me with those by copying what I did.
I love the level of detail that went into it. Now my only issue is to find a place to display it!

What can you say about this other then wow. The detail in this model is second to none. My son is off work for the 4th of july and we set down and built this together it was a great time spent with him and the best lego set we have done to date. I hope everyone gets a chance to put this together.

Very fun build

Got this set for Father's Day and was given whatever time needed for My Lego zen experience. First off the manual was very well done with some background on the Apollo moon mission as well as the creation of the Lego Saturn V. The model was really fun to build and somewhat challenging at times which is always nice. I think the price point is even a bit low for such a great model but don't tell any Lego execs I said that :)
I thoroughly enjoyed building the Lego Saturn V. I'd definitely rank it in the top 10 of the hundreds of builds I've done over my half century on this globe. Enjoy!!!

Best Lego build I have done to date
on August 5, 2017

This was an incredible build. After it's done their is little to tell it's Legos. The finish is excellent. Excellent price for the size of the build. make sure you have space for the 39" tall Rocket. There is a proposal on Lego Ideas for the Saturn V launch pad which would be an awesome addition if they decide to make it available. I recommend getting a login for that site as you can vote on future Lego sets. They have quite a few NASA ones that need some more votes for them to proceed.
