Great build but...

The only problem I have with this build is that its fragile.. one of the cool features about this build was lego made it possible to take the rocket apart in different stages.. only issue is even if you squeezed the legos together as hard as you can... after pulling rocket apart a few times.. it becomes fragile and falls apart.. which is q huge problem because it's a HUGE conversation piece. Other than that it's a sweet build and love the detail

Short and sweet,
It's very tall, worth the money and the way it's put together is amazingly smart. It's my favourite purchase so far

Amazing

The designers have done an amazing job in turning the Idea into a set.
Lots of new building techniques were used and even while repeating steps can't be avoided with a round, symmetrical object, somehow it felt like it was kept to a minimum.
The build model is very sturdy, it can be lifted up from the third stage without falling apart in three separate parts.
Part count is a nice gesture to Apollo 11

Greatest set to come out of LEGO Ideas!

The Saturn V has got to be the best thing to come from LEGO Ideas thus far. Coming in at 100 centimeters tall it is sure to stand out in any collection. The build is very enjoyable. The most you ever have to repeat a step is four times and even that is not bad. The twelve numbered bags make for a simpler build but if you want to challenge yourself open them all up at once. The final product is sure to wow any fan or even non-fan of LEGO. All in all the Saturn V is a great, it's great for the money, and it is very instantly recognizable. The only tough part is getting your hands on one.

This is a magnificent set and was very enjoyable to build and love the functionality of being able to part the section as the real apollo rocket did and also being able to recreat the moon landing if you wanted to and most of all looks great displayed with my other lego sets.

When completed, this amazing set towers at over 3ft! Very fun to build. Loved every minute of it. Exceptional job at details. The stages clip on and are secured on tightly. Instructions were clear. No doubt this is one of the best!

My new favorite Lego Set!!!
on August 1, 2017

After I built the Caterham kit car set, I thought I'd found my favorite Lego set. Alas, it was just surpassed by this one. I'm still in the process of building it, as for the big sets I like to spend a little time each day over several days just to extend the fun. I'm just about done with the first stage booster, and I can only say WOW! Having grown up in the 60s, the space program was huge in my life and this kit helps bring back memories of when things were exciting out of NASA.
By the way, kudos to the person whose idea it was to ensure there were 1969 pieces in the kit. That is just so fitting!

A LEGO set for all ages and time.

This is truly the best set LEGO has recently released. I think this will go-on to be one the top-rated builds for many builders out there. For me, this set has its place with my LEGO Tumbler and Slave 1, which demonstrate very high quality building techniques.
I must mention, there are absolutely no stickers and you just open the box and build it till the end without worrying about sticker placements. The way cylindrical shape is achieved is truly worth watching during the build process. There are some nice techniques when it comes to inter-stage locking. Once completed, I was also able to hold it horizontally in hand and all the stages remain connected. It is a very sturdy build. The outer surface does not show LEGO studs. So once you have build it, it rather looks like an actual model. That is cool.
My 7+ year old son also got involved in the build from the beginning. I rather assisted him and let him build. Saturn V is part of NASA space history and it was a perfect way to introduce him to this phase of history. The set has a lot of educational value besides building it. Thanks to everyone at LEGO.
