This is a well engineered and thought out product. Love LEGOs and building things and loved Voltron growing up as a kid. Thanks to the original creator for his dedication and LEGO for believing that this would work. The only thing I would have added would have been mini figs, would have just put it over the top that much more. Keep the new products coming.

This set was a lot of fun to put together, and building the lions then putting together Voltron was a unique experience. This is probably the closest we'll get to Lego Transformers. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone.

Fulfilling a childhood dream

I always wanted a Voltron as a kid and this LEGO version more than makes up for the wait. I was looking forward to this ever since it was announced. I had a great time building it. It’s pretty genius how they designed it - sturdy, actually transforms. I love it!

Childhood Nostalgia

This was one of the most innovative, fun models I have ever built. It is simply a design miracle that the five individual lion models actually transform and join together to form the Voltron mech!
Building each lion was fun, and the separate bags and instruction booklets made it possible for shared building. Each lion was a unique build, and the bright color scheme made for engaging building (some monotone models can become tedious).
The lions transform and connect easily and quickly, and the connection points and techniques used are incredibly innovative and strong. Voltron stands on its own, and can be posed brandishing a giant brick-built chrome sword and shield. Just as cool is posing the lions separately, as they make for terrific display pieces as well.
This was a super-fun, challenging and rewarding build that brought me back to my childhood years of watching the original Voltron cartoon, and playing with large mech toys like Voltron and Shogun. Highly recommended model.

I was a lucky boy to have the Japanese made Voltron toy set back in the 80s when Japanese robot/mech cartoons were at the peak! This Lego set combines my favorite toy (Lego) and my favorite robot set.
Credit to the designers, this set is terrific! It is hard enough to model any robot/mech character using Lego bricks, let alone one that has 5 individually built lions that transforms and combines into one big robot! The temptation would be to use many custom bricks like the Porsche GT3 but no! The designers managed to model a lot using existing bricks and that's a joy when building it. I cannot believe how simple and effective the eyes are modeled using basically coloured standard bricks! The designers also made special efforts on the shoulder join, which I think is another inspired idea.
The legs of the finished robot can't move but I can hardly blame them as this is a very heavy piece that would have required some very meaty joint mechanism! Otherwise I can't fault this set, including a very reasonable price!

This set is fantastic! Even if you aren't a Voltron fan, this set is a great build. Would have like to have seen minifigures of the pilots, but that doesn't take anything away of this "must buy".

An awesome experiance

This set can best be described as an experience. It's actually 5 sets in one. Each lion gets around 2-3 bags of pieces (bags are numbered for much needed convenience). Took me 9 hours spread out over 3 days to completely build. And thanks to Lego's VIP program, I had Voltron finished 3 days before it was available for general purchase. Probably my largest set and one of my favorite builds.
