Definitely had fun building this set! To be honest, the meatiness of the set surprised me- the ship was smaller than I was picturing in my head, but the bottle was far more nuanced than I was expecting! Overall, it's definitely a nice collection piece that I'm happy to display as part of my Lego collection!
I would recommend this to a friend!

WOW...This will make ya feel like a pirate by the time you're done with it. This rates up in my top 5 or so...it blows my mind how Lego never fails on great stuff.
This set also takes focus which is great therapy...trust me! People are blown away when they see this and ALWAYS ask, "how did you get that ship in there"? Again, I won't give away any "secrets" in my reviews, because I don't want to distract from your adventure!
As always, detail is spot on with this set as well. The globes are a nice accent as well as the bottle cap. Cool idea on the water and this is a steady center piece on top of the stereo. Lots of comments from everyone who sees it.
Thanks again to the Lego team...I gotta get to LEGO Land!

I love how this build came together! The detail to the ship was great! Lots of printed pieces which I personally LOVE! It makes a great addition to my office desk :)

Brittle set, pieces break over time

I've had this set since it was released, and overall enjoyed the build, however as others have said, the brown hook pieces that hold the sails have a tendency to break over time. This set has been in a cool environment out of direct sunlight, but still all of the brown hook pieces have broken. We have plenty of other sets with these hook pieces of various colors and designs, none of our other sets have had this problem. Seems to be an issue with a batch of these pieces specific to this set. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear this. It's really unusual for LEGO® pieces to break like that. Requesting replacements is super easy, though. Head to LEGO.build/BricksPieces-BV to get started.

Great Display

The set is fairly intricate with small piece placement. However the set comes together relatively easily (even with big fingers). The piece count is a bit deceiving, given all the "water" one stud pieces, that you just pour into the "bottle", so don't let that hold you back from purchasing. Once complete it looks great on a shelf or desk.
