This set is amazing not only is it fun to build and play with. But also comes with some of the best Lego parts available. I would say you could buy two one to build and keep and one just for parts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

WORTH EVERY PENNY

I bought this fishing house after wanting it for a while, finally purchased it because I had some friends (and fellow LEGO lovers) coming to visit and I thought it would be a fun activity for us all! The amount of detail that went into creating this set blows my mind. To be honest, the unique pieces (seagulls, crabs, fish, life vests, etc.) alone make this set worth it, not to mention all of the incredible architecture design with the way the roof comes off and the back wall opens up, it’s just incredible. I can’t recommend this set enough. Definitely the most difficult LEGO set I’ve ever put together, but I can’t wait to take it apart do it again in a few months!

Best Building yet.

I now own over 80 Lego sets, most of them being the big ones.
This particular set was one of the most fun to build, and compared to most sets I did not race to build it as its design was not the same as most of the Modular buildings. There aren't many repetitive steps so you must pay attention to the instructions.
The building once complete is simply gorgeous, it is better looking than the 5 modular buildings I own.
My grandson will love this one as it has so many unique details to play with.

Old Fishing Store

Picked up the set last year and built it up over several evenings. Then I spent many more hours making small changes to it, extending the pier, adding some extra characters and animals. The design is excellent, good use of all types of smooth tiles. My mother was so impressed and wants to build one too, so I picked up a second set for her birthday.

My partner and myself built this set over 2 days. We did find it quite challenging in parts but in a good way! The colours are really nice and there is a lot of detail. We would definitely recommend this set.

My First Lego Set
on December 11, 2017

I never really thought about building Lego’s until I came across this set. Know I have purchase Lego’s for kids throughout the years and when I was shopping this year for some Star Wars set for the boys I saw this set and something inside said I had to have it. After starting the set I decided to by a couple other small sets to add some extra people and props to the set. This was so fun to build and cannot believe how sturdy this structure is. I really hope Lego brings on more of these sets because if they do I will definitely be purchasing them. I think sets like these broadens Lego’s customer base. As an older adult who is not into Star Wars or the other super hero lines this is a perfect build to bring me in. Big thank you to the original designer, The Lego designer and Lego for being this to life.

the best building I have built yet, better than any modular in the sense that there are details in every possible space and interesting ways to put parts together and keep it visually appealing, not blocky at all. Feels like they put a lot of thought into it, kept it on subject and didn't just add things because they could, but because it fit.

My first 2000+ piece build
on October 9, 2017

Similar to the creator of the Old Fishing Store, my son is now 5 and old enough to get into Lego’s like I was when I was young. His interest sparked a re-interest with myself so when I saw this Fish Store as a new product release and never having done a 2000+ piece build before, I wanted to give it a shot. Besides, I like the idea of enthusiasts collaborating with Lego.
My overall reaction to this build is nothing but impressed. You open the box and a pile of bags fall out and a book. Not some stapled booklet like you are used to, no this is a bound book. Very Lego in build processes but the design was different in a good way. The wooden roof and goofy siding all fun to make. So much detail and focus in such a small space. Really well thought out. I really hope this product stems a line of follow up products.
As for skill, if the builder has done any of the older aged buildings or items alone without difficulty this will be just fine. Piece A still connects to piece B as in any other Lego set, it just happens 2000 times. Follow the directions, grab all the pieces for each step first and then apply. My son is too young for this yet but he did like having the Lego cat chase the Lego birds while I was building it.
If I had to grump to Lego about something it would be this: When you instruct detail items to be built with groups 5 and 6 but need to fit them into the tight spaces you built in groups 1-4, some of us are adults and our big hands don’t do “tight fitting detail work” as well as a child – consider doing some of the detail work in succession of the spaces being created.
Still, lots of fun and I look forward to the next one to build. Maybe Assembly Square, Mini Cooper, Disney Castle or Ninjago City. Not sure yet but I am really looking forward to doing the new Millennium Falcon but want my son to be part of it. Need to wait a few years.
