The Old Fishing Store

Without being too wordy, this was my first ever Lego build and I could not have enjoyed it more. I have seen places similar and it truly brought back many fond mamories.
The build instruction book, 276 pages, did not have a single word in it save the first 7 pages which was a brief story from Robert a Fan Designer and Adam Lego Designer. There story was 1 page each in English then translated into 4 other languages. A brief but great story to be sure. After that was 269 pages of numbers and parts plus pictures as to where each and brick was to be placed. A bit of a challenge until I got the hang of it on about page 16. I was amazed and very thankful that there were no instructions. It was a breeze with no frustrating spots that I can recall.
I have since purchased several more build kits and will continue on for a while.

A Thing of Beauty

My wife and I picked this set up as a last minute Christmas gift for each other after dragging our feet on the price tag for some time.
Once getting it home we didn't regret it one bit. We enjoyed several fun nights together switching off building and marveling at the details in this set.
There's a lot of depth to the layers and it's incredible to see it come to completion. The amount of "props" and mini figures makes for plenty of enjoyment after the fact as well.
Looks great on display!

A simple beauty

This set is truly a conversation piece. It's level of detail both in and out are phenomenal! The build requires attention to detail and has fun techniques. The colors and elements used make it really great. The swinging wall to reveal the interior is a wonderful feature as well.

Exceptional Set!

This has to be one of the greatest Lego sets I have ever bought, this is phenomenal, first of all the box art is possibly the best I have ever seen for a Lego set (Apart from the Saturn V), it is so cool and striking, it is different and the box art and instruction manual art is something which I.m very pleased to have in my collection.
Now for the build, It was so much fun, wasn't particularly difficult and the amount of detail is exceptional, There are very few Lego sets which I have had more fun building. Both kids and adults could manage this build as there aren't many parts which are too tricky, its so cool putting together certain sections and adding all the really cool little details, which is what I love most about this, this set includes fishing rods, harpoons, oars, printed fishing hooks, a cash register, a lamp, printed money, printed post it notes, oxygen tanks, diving helmets, a printed map and a printed painting of a ship, plus much much more.
This set is so cool from both the outside and the inside, the store opens up simply by removing the roof and the end wall is hinged so opens up easily, the inside is very crammed and busy looking, but that really works as it is very realistic for an old fishing store like this, you also get a little office which includes a desk, lamp and chair, plus a viewing balcony with a telescope which is a fun mini build on its own.
This old fishing store also comes with some really cool minifigures as well as some really cool animals including, sea gulls, lobsters, spider, fish and crabs.
I would give this set easily a 5/5 and would recommend this to everyone, it is a fantastic build and the finished model is absolutely exceptional, you really need to see this in real life to appreciate how good it looks, its a fantastic addition to anyone's collection, I think it is definitely worth the price and if you can afford it then definitely get it, you wont regret it!

Best set I've ever built!

The set is pricey but it's worth every dime! It is also tasteful to display in any living space! I've been playing with legos since I remember and this is hands down my favorite set. It is super detailed with lots of knickknacks! There's a surprise around every corner!

Gift from the wife

My wife bought me this set for Christmas. At least she said it was for me...
We both had a lot of fun building this incredibly detailed set. Bravo to the designer for creating this masterpiece.
What I really love about this set is the incredible detail. The set comes with four minifigures. My favorite is the Sea Captain. His cable knit sweater is beautiful and thankfully printed on both the front and back of the torso.
This set has inspired me to purchase one of the Modular building sets and perhaps start my own Lego town that the whole family can enjoy building and playing with.
I would recommend this to a friend!

One of the Best!

I own all of the modular buildings, the Disney castle, Metal Beard's Sea Cow, the Haunted Mansion, numerous trains and this set ranks as one of the BEST!!!
The details are amazing including the roof!
So glad I listened to my parents and "stay in school and get a good job" so I can buy these models!!
Keep up the great designing but please keep the prices reasonable.
