Died after one year

I bought this unit because my previous Cuisinart coffee maker lasted 8 years until it died a natural death.
This unit, however, died on me after ONE year (almost to the day). Just died. The controls still work but the water will not heat and coffee will not cycle to the carafe.
Very disappointed that Cuisinart has lowered quality and reliability to such an extent. If you do a Google search, you will find tons of similar ratings on this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this coffee pot to replace the one that my son and family had. We liked the look and performance of the pot. It certainly has kept the coffee hot as was stated and very easy to use. Highly recommend
