It doesn't toast evenly from top to bottom, or side to side. That was why I bought this one. You can even tell when you see the elements aren't glowing evenly while looking inside. Sure fooled me with the high ratings, but I get the same performance from a cheapie!

Great toaster that evenly toasts bread quickly! The four slots are perfect for our family of four and we love to use it to defrost frozen waffles! Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the black stainless steel color is only on the front part, not the entire surface as the advertisements seemed to show. Otherwise, I love this toaster and recommend it to others!

We purchased a 2nd 4 slice Cusinart toaster because our first quit working on 2 of the slices. That one had been replaces in warranty as well. We like how quickly it toasts and are giving the Cuisinart one more try.
