This toaster is fantastic. We owned a cuinart toaster before this one for 20+ years and we stayed with cuisinart when it was time to replace our old because the quality is excellent.

The toasting on both sides is very consistent. If toasting 4 pieces of bread they come up pretty much at the same time.

I have been extremely disappointed in my purchase. It is stunning in appearance but the quality of the toast is terrible. Instead of a smooth golden look over the whole slice, there are distinct lines of uneven color and very often one side is darker than the other.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is just a nice standard toaster that does what it's supposed to do, and does not require a doctorate in electronics to operate. The materials are decent, not too flimsy. I got the red one for decorative purposes, and like the shade of red.
