Toaster dials are very loose and settings are sensitive. Beagles toast uniform for the most part when using the "beagle button", but toast and english muffins seem to vary and don't get toasted equally across or on opposite sides of the product and a slight change in the dial and you can and often get a drastic difference in hot the product toasts. What ever happened to the day of the basic toaster where you set a number and the outcome is the same time after time for years? Way too much thinking and so called engineering (and this is coming from someone that worked in different engineering fields for 30+ years) tries to go into a basic / simple product. I own other Cuisinart products and like them, but it's not just this toaster, I wish I could get just a basic toaster that day after days does what it is designed to do without all kinds of bells and whistles.

This is a good toaster, but probably a bit over priced based on the "cheap feeling" of the metal and handles. Settings are very high, so you can burn bread if you don't pay attention. Not sure why there are such high settings when bread will burn at the 3.5 cook setting. The good thing about this toaster - It cooks fast!!!

We purchased this around july 2019. Does this toaster do ok on plain white bread - yes. I have not tried whole wheat. English muffins. When I tried this on English muffins I started with a setting of 3. Was not even tan. I moved the dials to 1 and then I had charcoal. sigh. Also there is nothing saying which way to position the bagle/muffin. I do see all of the elements lit so I can only assume that it does not matter which way you have the food oriented, which means the toaster is heating both sides. Frozen waffles. These we have daily. If the waffles have NO ice crystals on the surface then both sides toast as one would expect. However if ice crystals have formed then there is a problem. The waffle will be soggy in that area. I have tried rotating the waffle and giving it a little more time and that did not work. Either I still have a soggy waffle or a burned one. Of all the toasters I have had this one is the most difficult one I have experienced.

This 4 Slice Metal Classic Toaster is absolutely fantastic. This is our second toaster that we have purchased. It makes perfect toast every time and that is why we love it. It is a well made toaster for the price.

I purchased this toaster to replace another Cuisisnart toaster that we have had for at least ten years. We were very pleased with that toaster and the only reason that we replaced it was that it was only toasting on one side. The new toaster is an improvement over the old one because it has separate controls for each serving of two slices. It also has individual settings for different products which eliminates the guesswork long associated with guessing at how many cycles to use to toast a bagel properly. I would recommend this toaster to everyone looking for a new toaster.
