I bought this toaster to replace a similar one. I had the old one for many years. I liked it very much.
This toaster does not work well. It will not toast the bread dark enough. It doesn't matter what setting I have it set for.

Toast is perfect-on both sides. Color is easy to set with large knobs. Make sure you push the pop-up lever down till it latches-takes a little effort but not excessive. Love this toaster as all Cuisinart products that I have.
