We bought the toaster to replace a
toaster oven that “died.” We went back and forth trying to decide if we should get a 4-slice toaster, another toaster oven or a combination toaster oven/air fryer. After a week of deliberation, we bought the 4-slice Cuisinart toaster. It has wide slots, which is what we needed, because we bake our own bread and slice it in varying thicknesses. The bagels we buy locally make “ginormously” thick bagels. They did NOT fit in the toaster unless we flattened them, ruining all that we love about those bagels, which is the airy texture. They became gummy once we flattened them. The toaster is great, with great features, for people that don’t toast what we toast routinely. Therefore, we feel we should have replaced the toaster oven with a toaster oven. It happens to be a great product, but not for our retired lifestyle.
