I replaced this same model. My old one worked perfectly for many years. The new one doesn't toast evenly. It is much slower as well. It is also extremely hard to get the buttons to stay down to actually begin the toast process.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If only the "pop up" was just a bit louder. Sounds funny to want anything to be louder but when your toast is done, and you don't know it and it's no longer warm it just not good.
Otherwise, we are VERY pleased with this toaster! So almost 5 stars.....

Does what a toaster should do. The best feature by far is the Bagel button. Somehow it comes up with a perfect toasted outside and soft inside. Such a great feature.

Would like to have given Cuisinart five stars but not this time. Cheaply made and not the quality I had expected. Toasting levers don't want to stay down when you want them to and the choice buttons do not light up so you don't know whether your toaster is toasting a bagel, reheating or whatever it decides to do. Circular selector for darkness of toast does not stay put but moves to easily so it changes selection of toast every time you use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
