Not a nuanced dial. Have to turn it almost all the way up to toast at all and just a bit more burns it. I end up pushing the lever multiple times rather than turning up the dial. I suppose it ultimately generates toast.

Not the same Cusianart I bought about 3 years ago. Replaced that one with the new one. So disappointed. Did not toast the same, bigger learning curve on desired toast color outcome setting. Waited for little noise indicating it was finished toasting! Little spring ping was pretty much inaudible if you had another minor noise going on. Cannot wait for two years to buy something else.
