We had another ( the same?) cuisinart toaster for at least 10 years. It was great but must have just worn out. We purchased this one to replace it but it has been a mere shadow of the one it replaced. It doesn’t toast evenly, it won’t stay down when you push the bread down (which is why we replaced the old one). It seems flimsy . Frankly just a cheaply made version of the one that we used with no trouble for so many years. I hate writing this sort of review. I’ve had many cuisinart appliances and this is the first one in which I’ve been disappointed.

Had my 1st Cuisanart 4-slice for probably 19 yrs. The quality was unbeatable. This toaster is the “same” one but the quality and heft has definitely declined. Lighter weight and less “sturdy” knobs etc. Toasts fine so far so we’ll see how long this one lasts. They don’t make ‘em like they used to!
