This toaster just didn't do the job. We turned the (cheaply made) darkness adjuster to the top number and still ended up with barely toasted bread. Returned the toaster within days.

Good concept. Very sensitive how the bread is placed in the toaster ... if you don't place it just right , it takes a couple of attempts to get the bread down. When I am able to get the toast down, it is well toasted.

When the bagel button is pushed the toaster browns both sides of the bagel instead of one side. That’s the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5

New toaster (same model, but 4 slices instead of 2). Cooks in 2/3 the time compared with the last Cuisinart toaster we used for 20+ years. Due to good reliability of the last toaster, we decided on buying the same tech type model, with simple lower tech controls that the last toaster had. No need for ultra sufistification.

Does everything I wanted except I thought the Bagel setting was to toast the cut side more than the uncut side. But it still does an OK job. The toasting is sort of uneven.
