This toaster is a pleasant, retro design giving the image of old fashioned quality. It functions well and toasts in all 4 slots evenly. Two disappointments.... I wish there was a retractable cord or an easy cord wrap system as we always store this unit when not in use.... secondly, I would like to see a mechanism to lift the finished toast beyond the unit's top surface. Other machines accomplish this by physically raising the lifting level gaining an extra 0.5" The only way we have discovered to 'eject' the toast when finished is to spring the handle and attempt to catch the toast as it shoots up.

Fast toasting, easy to clean, wide slots, but bagel mode toasts both sides of the bagel, not just the cut side. Read many reviews of this toaster before purchase and also viewed videos. It was one of the videos that said the bagel feature only toasted one side. But the toasting speed, after having a new 4-slice toaster oven that took over 5 minutes to toast bread and was too small to hold 2 bagels, is this toaster’s best feature. We are learning to enjoy crispy bagels.

Overall very happy so far. Two minor issues: a) as noted in many other reviews I’ve seen, the knobs are quite loose so care should be taken to adjust the darkness level. b) The mechanism is so tight that a single slice of toast flies up and out of the toaster like the scene from I Love Lucy. Pretty funny but I’ve almost lost a couple of slices to the floor. The toaster is a good size, not too bulky. It has a nice design if you choose to leave it on the counter. A relative has the same model going on thirteen years and only mentioned the loose knobs as a minor issue.
