Not As Good As Prior Models

I've always bought GE microwaves. but not happy with this one. Light bulb is dim & not bright enough to see food thru the door/window; buttons are hard to push or find the right angle to push in. I also worry about the moisture left inside to just warm up coffee. I had to replace my last one because it started rusting inside the door & the inside top started peeling (even though it still worked). I needed a white counter top one so had to take this one...so we'll see.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Firstly, thanks for choosing our appliances for your home, that means a lot. Second, we're sorry to hear about your disappointments with your new unit. We can understand how that would be frustrating for sure.
All microwaves have a window in the door that has a mesh screen inside of it. This screen helps keep the microwaves inside the cavity, and is a necessary part. You may find that the screen makes it difficult to see your food as it is cooking. Although it is difficult to see detail, the window should allow you to see if there are any problems while cooking, like arcing, burning, boilovers, etc. If you need to check on your food, opening the door will pause the microwave.
It's normal to have moisture on the floor or walls of the microwave cavity while cooking, especially if you are microwaving liquids or foods with a high water content (ex. Potatoes). The moisture will dissipate on its own; however, you can also wipe off the water with a clean, dry cloth.
The control panel pads should not take a ton of force to press. If you're finding that they're not responsive at all or you're having to put a lot of pressure on the pad to press it then we recommend making a warranty claim as per page 15 of your Use and Care manual, here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40785.PDF

I really like the features, looks and size of the GE microwave. I like being able to hit the sensor selections and individual time settings. I look forward to years of use, as I've had with previous GE microwaves. Thanks GE!

I got this as a replacement for a similar model…no longer available. Got the a Stainless one…didn’t know it was polished (as my previous one was). Wish it had a 30second option

The unit is very noisy, when the unit beeps for shut off it runs for a few second longer inwhich could present a danger if it does not shut off when it beeps. the key pad is very hard to push the buttons for your selections very poor quality
