Disappointed in product!

We had a GE microwave for 12 years without any problems. It needed replacing so we got another new GE that was comparable in size and options. We had issues from the moment we set it up and tried to use it. The turntable made terrible grinding noises when starting up and shutting down no matter what we tried. The microwave shut down completely on its own when used for 5 minutes and seemed to have no electricity getting to it...the screen was completely dark. We checked our GFI outlet and the breaker box and neither had shut down. We unplugged it and waited awhile to try it again to warm up coffee and it worked but the turntable still made grinding noises. We returned it to the store and bought another brand. We had it for 1 day!! Very disappointed!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Huge Disappointment

We had a prior GE microwave for more than 12 years that was wonderful. It needed replaced due to pitting around the door so we bought a new one similar to the old one. The new one had issues from the moment we set it up. It ran so loudly that you could hear it all through the house, it would shut itself off completely after 1 or 2 minutes and you had to wait 5-10 minutes for power to be restored to it. You could hear something rattling around in the bottom of the microwave when it was running. There were no redeeming qualities to this microwave and we packed it back up and returned it to the store the next day. We bought a Panasonic similar to it and we are totally pleased with the new microwave. Sorry but we have nothing nice to say about the GE product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Elegant Looking Microwave

We purchased this new GE microwave to match our other GE appliances and replace the older microwave which suddenly stopped working. It is beautiful looking microwave and has excellent features such as sensor cooking, 30 sec Add, and power levels to meet the cooking needs at a reasonable price. It is spacious inside and is easy to open and close as compared to our previous one where you have to pull the handle to open it at a risk of pulling the microwave forward. In this just press the button and it opens smoothly, no force required and no risk of sliding forward. The best thing I liked about it is the cooking guide on the inside as you open the microwave as shown in the attached picture. Once you place the food inside the oven, look up the guide what button to press and for how long, close the door and start the microwave. I gave it 4 stars because it feels the turnstile is not smooth initially when we started using. It might get better and smoother over time once the turnstile wheels start rolling smoothly with extended use. Otherwise I am fully satisfied with our new GE microwave

This product is different than the one I had before. What a difference 18 years can make! I like the smooth interior, the odd colored light, and the different design on the rotating table. Now that I am old, I will get to depend on the reminders: FOOD, and TURN. I wish it had come with an owner's manual in the box.

Works great but window fogs between the glass

If you come across this moisture in between the glass again, we highly suggest to allow the unit's door to remain open for approximately 15 minutes to make the fog go away a bit faster. Good standard microwave

My previous microwave was also GE. It was bigger and I loved it. Wanted a smaller one since the touch panel started acting up. This appeared to be a similar smaller model. Don't feel the button placement is intuitive. Clear or cancel is so far away from start button and obvious difference from the bigger model. Makes you feel like you have to search for the cancel button. I don't like the dull Led interior lights. Larger model had brighter lights inside. Overall cook's just fine
