We have not had it but a few weeks and already the turn table is causing trouble. The one prior that we had lasted twenty something years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We needed to replace a whirlpool microwave that was not available and something with the exact measurements. This was was perfect and a lot better on the price !

Functions well but…

Great microwave but I get annoyed that when I use the Add 30 Sec button, my cup is always in the back of the microwave with the handle facing away. So in order to retrieve my cup I have to grab the hot mug by the body rather than the handle. I mean, if you are going have a feature like the Add 30 Sec button, wouldn’t think it would be designed to end up with the rotation in the front, where you set your item? This is our third microwave (non-GE prior) and they both had one rotation every 10 seconds so that most times your item was in front when you went to retrieve it, especially for a 30 or 60 second cycle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The visual display on your timer could stand to be a lot brighter. You almost have to get right up on it to see the numbers.

I purchased this microwave on an emergency basis when the control panel on my LG failed after a mere three years. There were few choices available in the store but GE has been around for many years so I took a chance on it. I've only had it for a few weeks and it's working fine but I wish it had more pre-set sensor cook features for food items like bacon and popcorn as well as for defrost options for various items. Would be nice to have suggested times printed on the inside of the door at the top of the oven. (I do miss that about the previous microwave). However, so far, so good.
