Poor Quility

I purchased an entire suite of GE appliances for my new home. We moved in April of 2020. There are only two adults in the house and was well taken care of. Still looked brand new. But in July 2021 just over a year of use it would no longer heat anything. Lights and turntable worked but no heating up. Took it back to store where I purchased it and was told to take it to the dump.. no good So we have purchased a new GE to match our other GE appliances Which we love. Now will have to wait 45-60 days for a replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're glad to hear that you love your new model so far. We'd like to provide some troubleshooting tips for the future. If your microwave runs but is not heating, there could be one of many components that is not working properly.
Please make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used.
Check to ensure the door is closed securely. Open the door and close it firmly. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms.
For safety reasons, we offer no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens. There is an internal high voltage capacitor which can hold a high voltage charge even after the microwave has been unplugged. Also, special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis for the repair needed.

Failed after just 2 years

We had redone our kitchen 2.5 years ago and built our new GE microwave into our new cabinets. The repair person told us that fixing the appliance was more expensive than replacing it. Warranty didn't cover repair trip or a replacement. So we had to replace the microwave, dismantle the cabinet to insert the appliance, and pay the local recycling center to take the old GE microwave off our hands. What looked like good price/performance turned out to be a very bad purchase decision.

Love love love

MY sister gave me this for mybirthday, I love it! Easy to use, seems to have perfect temperatues. Great on popcorn, (which is hard for a micro) & Im hoping due to this brabd, will last me 10 yrs!

Good power and features at a good price

It's only been two days but so far so good. Keypad layout is different from old unit, so it'll take awhile to get use to it. For the price, it was by far the best deal, with the best features.

Very short working life

I loved this model as long as it was working. Now it runs as soon as I close the door and overheats. Have to keep it unplugged. this one is less than 3 years old! Will be getting another one, maybe GE, maybe not. From what I've read it is a common problem with microwaves.

Stopped working within two months

After six weeks of use, the microwave stopped working. Any time we tried to use it, it would trip the breaker. A repair man came out and said it cannot be fixed. Very disappointed.
