Seems like this is just a bad unit

Like others have said it worked great if you don't try to heat anything longer than 4 minutes. Just bought it and was heating something for 5 minutes and with 20 seconds to go it just totally shuts off. unplug it and plug it back in nada. About 10 minutes late plug it back in and it will work again. Seems really quiet like the fan isn't working. Have had it home all of 4 hours. Taking it back tomorrow and will not be buying another GE microwave...probably ever.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seems to have a fan problem

This microwave will need to be returned. The fan that runs when cooking is hitting something and makes a racket.

Powers off constantly

We bought this product 4 months ago and if we microwave something for 2-3 minutes it will shut down to cool off for 30 minutes. It’s very annoying. Our last microwave (also ge) was able to be set inside our custom cabinet spot for the microwave and handle as many packs of ramen noodles as my kids made. This one has been removed from its nook and is ugly cluttering up the counter and still overheats!

Thank you for reaching out about your microwave. We appreciate hearing from you and apologize for the overheating issue you are experiencing. This model is not approved to be used in a cabinet and should be on a countertop with the appropriate clearances. 3 inches on each side, 3
inches on the top, and 1 inch in the rear are necessary to exhaust the unit properly. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will keep in touch.

The power level feature coupled with the 1600 watt output lets one use your oven almost as a full oven.

Very poor quality. Steams up the window between the interior and exterior glass so you can not see in the window at all. Takes over an hour to clear the window. Can also see heat vapers escaping around the door. Ordered one and sent it back for a replacement and the second one does the same thing.

Hi, Thanks for sharing your concerns and giving us a chance to help! It's normal to see some steam or vapor escaping from around the microwave door. The door is designed to allow heat and steam to escape to prevent the overheating of the unit.

If disconnecting power to the microwave for 30 seconds to reset the electronics doesn't resolve the issue, we suggest taking advantage of the warranty.
