Wish I had upgraded years ago

Love new mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this mixer as a Christmas gift. It upgrades my old Kitchen Aid that is almost 45 years old and starting to get "tired". I make my own bread (sourdough and french) and the old mixer was starting to get really hot and slowing down. I love the shape of the new dough hook. It mixes and kneads the dough better and without getting so hot you can't touch it. It's also much more stable - no traveling around the counter as it mixes. I love the attachment to add ingredients as it has an opening specifically for adding ingredients while keeping dry ingredients contained. I also love the variety of attachments that are available for this mixer.
The bowl is easy to attach and remove from the machine compared to my old mixer. No twisting and turning, just tilt and lift. The bowl on the old mixer was starting to get stuck and I had to ask my husband to get it off.
The only down side I found so far, for me, is the crank to lift the bowl to the mixing position as I have strength issues with my right arm. While I still love my old Kitchen Aid mixer, it is now semi-retired.

Powerful and quiet.

I bake a lot of traditional breads which tend to be large recipes like old German dark rye bread and Chalah. I upgraded to this mixer from a 6 quart professional ( still an excellent mixer). This mixer is quieter than the 6 and doesn’t even warm up handling these very large batches.

Fabulous Mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had KitchenAid's 5 Quart Mixer for over ten years. It's been a real workhorse. But, the 7 Quart Mixer is even better. It's very powerful and extremely quiet.
The mixing process is really rapid. And, the simplicity of raising and lowering the bowl is pure genius. I would recommend this mixer to anyone looking for a great addition to their kitchen appliances.

Strong quiet motor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago after my old Sunbeam finally died. I wanted one with plenty of power and a quiet motor. So far I am extremely happy with it, and glad I chose the 7 qt one with the dc motor. I would have loved some of the color choices that the artisan line has, but that is cosmetic.

Disappointing

I was so excited to get this mixer. I had had one of the smaller tilt head mixers for years, and I thought this would be an upgrade. The first time I used it to knead bread dough, it got really hot and shut off. I freaked out thinking that I had just killed my new mixer. Once it cooled, it worked again, but it is just not able to knead bread dough. It consistently gets hot and shiutz off. That is why I bought it, so I am kind of annoyed by that. Also, my 25 year old tilt head mixer can do the job without any problem. So the new mixer is just a (large) ornament for the counter, and I have gone back to using the mixer I was going to replace.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Much quieter

Best Mixer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband purchased this mixer for me for Christmas because the 5qt Kitchen Aid one that I had while great didn’t have the capacity that I needed. I bake a lot and in large amounts so I needed a mixer that could handle big batches. This mixer is an absolute dream!! I own a lot of Kitchen Aid products and LOVE them all, but this one in particular stole my heart. It has an immense amount of power and can handle large batches of cake mixes, cookie mixes, homemade mashed potatoes..you name it, this mixer can handle it.
