Dissapointed

I received my mixer last night and was so excited. I got it set out on the counter and looked it over. There is a chunk missing off the arm of the bowl lift, a chunk missing off the beater, and burrs inside the bowl from the welds of the handle.

A great mixer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My classic has been struggling with bread dough and the 4.5 qt capacity was limiting some of my mixing projects. I love the 7qt. It is handling everything well. It is big and does not
Fit under my upper cabinets but I got a
Cart that I keep it in and roll over to the counters when I am doing bakery work. Defy recommend if you need a bigger and stronger unit.

Bowl height adjustment is off
on December 28, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this pro line stand mixer in order to make my home bakery business. More efficient. After one use, I discovered that the bowl height adjustment is off. I have tried numerous times to contact Kitchenaid in order to file a claim so that this issue could be corrected and I have not been able to speak with anyone despite numerous calls. My calls have gone unanswered. This is the worst customer service that I’ve ever experienced.

High pitched noise and clanking
on December 2, 2022
Posted by: Jeff Oz
from Miamisburg OH
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Mixer was used for the first time over the Thanksgiving holiday. I bought it after using my sister’s KitchenAide when visiting. I previously owned a six quart model that has served me well over the past 11 years. It was passed to my daughter- in-law. I was surprised by the high pitched sound and clanking coming from the motor itself. I waited for the online chat for almost 90 minutes and was told to call. After waiting on the phone for two plus hours the wait time was getting longer. When attempting to request a call back, I was not given the option to leave a number and time and it reverted back to waiting on the call. Quality control does not exist and customer service left with it.

The machine is strong and quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I checked into the different mixers available for a couple of weeks and finally decided on the Kitchenaid Proline 7 Quart due to the DC motor being quiet and strong, along with the capacity. The unit arrived quickly and it was in great shape. It is a beautifully designed appliance and works well. I made butter and bread with it the first day. Whipping the heavy cream into the butter took only a few minutes. I think that is because of the 11 wire whisk. I am very happy overall with my purchase.

Three Units Failed in 3 Years.
on September 22, 2022

I purchased a Proline Series 7 Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer in July of 2019. It failed about a year later - the speed control started to fail to allow certain speeds to work intermittently, then the mixer failed to work at at all. Kitchenaid provided a replacement quickly. The replacement unit failed the same way in October 2021. A replacement unit took more than 2 months to arrive - and was replaced with a commercial 8 quart version. I was warned that there would only be a 2 year warranty for the commercial unit. That unit also failed the same way as the first two units in September 2022. Given that I was making a wedding cake for my son's wedding, I could not wait for a replacement unit. I removed the case for the mixer and sprayed the switch on the speed control board with contact cleaner. That fixed the problem. The mixer is working fine again. The speed switch on the controller board is just a slider that rubs over printed circuit board contacts. The contacts are not protected from the environment at all - and the motor has a fan the likely draws outside air across the circuit board. I do not use the mixer very often. I suspect that some oxidation or containment collects on the circuit board contacts, eventually causing the mixer to fail. In any event, it is a poor design to have a switch that is exposed to the environment in a kitchen that might have grease, sugar, or flour particles floating in the air. It is hard to believe that this is not a problem for many of the newer KitchenAid mixers, as the DC motor models all use the same controller board. A sealed switch would solve the problem and save both KitchenAid and their customers much grief. It is extremely annoying to have a mixer fail in the middle of preparing a cake for a wedding, or preparing a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
