Good power and capacity but one design flaw

I bake a lot of large batches of yeast rolls. The dough hook needs a flange or disc at the top to keep the dough from crawling up into the mechanism as it kneads the dough. It is very annoying to need to clean that up each time and I worry that I am not able to get it all out and it will ruin the motor. Other less expensive mixers have that feature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A perfect home mixer for the serious baker

After 2 years I still love my Proline 7 stand mixer. I'm only sad that the model was discontinued because I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a powerful and quiet mixer capable of handling all kinds of recipes. It's a joy to use, and I use it often!

Work horse of my kitchen

I held off in getting a stand mixer thinking it was a big expensive piece of equipment that would just take up room on my counter. I use it all the time especially with the attachments for pasta, grinding, and making ice cream.

Powerhouse…. BUT…

I love this machine! But I don’t love the attachments. I have to get any to replace something that shouldn’t be covered in plastic to begin with. I use this to make dough for bread at least twice a week… the machine itself is a powerhouse!! The coated flat beater and dough hook started chipping within the first year. They were replaced and I’ll be darned if I’ll keep replacing with the coated stuff!! I have the 7, 5, and 3.5 machines and chipping has happened to them all!! Anyone else?
