Double batches!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product 6 months ago when my old Kitchenaid mixer gave out after 30 years. I was looking for a way to make double batches without having to pull out half of the dough halfway through a recipe. The large size, powerful motor, and fit of the paddle close to the edges of the bowl make it so easy to cook for large numbers when you want to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our tilt-head KitchenAid mixer served admirably over 26 years of hard, almost daily use. Its top speeds no longer work and it struggles under loads it used to handle well.
Our old mixer was obviously due for an overhaul, but it's also a little small for some of mixing jobs we do around here. I decided to replace the old faithful mixer, and get the old one rebuilt so I can pass it down to one of my kids.
I started shopping around, and vacillated between the Pro Line Series 7 and an Ankarsrum model. I finally settled on the Ankarsrum, and I was going to buy one for myself after the holidays.
Meanwhile, our 4 kids clubbed together and bought us a Pro Line Series 7 for our 35th wedding anniversary. I was so touched and surprised!
I am quite impressed with the Pro Line Series 7! It's solidly built, has good, sturdy attachments, and many improvements over my old faithful mixer. It sits solidly on the counter and doesn't buck or walk around like the old one did. It ramps itself up and doesn't splatter ingredients everywhere.
The whisk and the dough hook are more effective than the older models. I am especially pleased with how well the dough hook mixes ingredients and kneads dough. This was a weak spot in the older model. The whisk handles marshmallow manufacture beautifully.

Powerful mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this heavily since it arrived and I am very happy with its features and power. The only small complaint I have is that is doesn't perform well on small batches, such as whipped cream or frosting, that is why I gave 4 stars and not 5 For that I use me old KitchenAid with the 5 quart bowl. Other than that small disappointment I am happy. It can make a quad batch of challah with ease and saves me a lot of time re-measuring for the separate batches. The power is really evident when I have recipe with 16 cups of flour in it, the mixer never slows down!
I have used it with my pasta attachments and it makes that job an easy one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced a KA 6-QT that was nothing but trouble from the start. Hopefully the Big-7 will be much more reliable. It's only been about a month so it might be too early to tell. No problem making bread dough at this point. Fingers crossed or it's the last KA in this house.

difficult pro line

To hard to put on and off stand....i am a strong woman and it is hard
i called william sonoma the night of my purchase. no one could help me so i utubed. WS told me to call you,,,,,i can do it but as a 60 year old in ten years it may be too hard to do. also
did the dime test as butter was in bottom of bowl not incorporating. the screwdriver adjustment will not go any more to the left and even though dime moves. only every 4th whirl. not thrilled at all and I spent so much money. sad in atlanta
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
