Great for making large batches of baked goods!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have upgraded to this model after using a smaller KitchenAid mixer for 20 years. This one has a lot of power and can withstand making 3 batches of cookies at once. I also purchased a scraper blade attachment that is very useful with this mixer.

I got this as an early Christmas gift from my Mom and she ordered one for herself as well. She ordered the Artisan, she loves making cakes. As for me, I'm a cookie baker and always double up on my recipes. My previous mixer was the Oster Kitchen Center that I got from my Mom at my wedding shower--that was about 30 years ago! It could not handle double batches, I had to stop half way through the mixing process to get some elbow muscle into mixing the dough for my chocolate chip cookies. It was exhausting, but I was younger and able to handle it. Alas it was on its last breath and my Kitchen Center finally exhausted itself. When KitchenAid came out with this 7 qt Bowl Lift Mixer, I had been eyeing it for quite some time and finally got one before Christmas! Well, with the hustle and bustle of the recent holiday season and working full time, I never had the opportunity to use the machine. I finally took it out of the box and was afraid it was not going to fit under my counter. To my surprise, I was thrilled it did. I want to display my KitchenAid for all to see! I immediately washed my bowls and mixer attachments and whipped up a DOUBLE BATCH of the chocolate cookie dough. It was effortless to say the least and because the mixer thoroughly mixed all ingredients, especially the brown sugar and white sugar, it broke up the "grainy" particles beautifully! I brought some of my famous Toffee Chocolate Chunk Smore Cookies into work and they were a HUGE HIT! I could not have been so pleased! I wish I had taken a picture to show you how beautiful the dough came out. As far as the mixing bowl, I agree the metal pressure plate in back of the bowl is a bit difficult to get in place. It took me a few tries, but I'm guessing I'll get the hang of it as I use this machine more and more. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a 7 qt GLASS BOWL to go along with this mixer. I have read many reviews on other sites on this 7 qt mixer and this is requested by the masses! Is KitchenAid working towards this goal?

Not sure about the clicking noise, would like to know if that is normal.
My older Pro will now find a home with my daughter, still works great.
I wish there was a cover that fits better than the one I bought, it is too short, my only real complaint other than the clicking noise.
Love the wattage size.
