Great Workhorse With Some Drawbacks

I bought and used this mixer a couple of years ago, and it does a great job overall. A few drawbacks are that it is very heavy to move (even with the bowl empty), the head doesn't tilt; inserting the bowl into the locked and unlocked position is tricky, unwieldy, and takes practice in getting used to it; the cover used to pour ingredients into the bowl is flimsy and can move quite easily if nudged even lightly when pouring ingredients into it, which can dislodge it and cause ingredients to spill away from the bowl onto the counter; and it doesn't come with a storage cover. Notwithstanding those issues, I am pleased with its power, performance, and versatility in how well it completes its tasks to mix, knead, and whisk, and recommend it for those tasks -- especially, if you're preparing large quantities / bulky ingredients that would resist other brands' models whose motors and hardware might not be up to the mission.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have loved my Kitchenaid 4.5qt for 29 years. But my husband purchased a Pro Line 7qt mixer for Mother's Day. WOW!!!!! I can make 4 loaves of bread and the dough hook kneads the bread smoothly, and in 4 minutes!!! Only 4 minutes to develop the gluten and prepare it for it's first rise.
Also, I can whip as little as ONE EGG WHITE to firm peaks.
I use my Kitchenaid Pro Line 7qt mixer several times a week - and my whole neighborhood is THRILLED with the foods I prepare with it! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
Just walking into my kitchen and seeing this beautiful piece of machinery brings joy to my heart and happiness in my tummy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bake all of our bread, so a work horse mixer is vital to our household. I trust KitchenAid to be up to the task and to continue to work reliably for many years to com.

plenty of power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only used it once so far, but I really want to try it for mixing 7 lbs of meat for meat balls. I use hamburger and Italian sausage plus eggs, bread crumbs etc, and I used to mix all this by hand. Im pretty sure this mixer will do the trick, I will add another review after that

Powerful and quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my 5 qt mixer for about 8 years and I loved it, I have been wanting a bigger mixer for awhile and when I saw the 7 quart I was sold. I love how powerful it is and so much quieter than my 5 qt. I have several attachments and find that the motor on the 7 qt does not get as warm as the 5 qt.

Happy with my new tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to replace my 6 qt KitchenAid mixer. My 6 qt had given me a lot of good years but was very noisy. The 7 qt is MUCH quieter! This is what I was seeking. I use the machine fairly often to make pasta which means it is running a long time. I am looking forward to a quieter experience.
The larger bowl is important to me because I often make double batches of cookies or bread. So far, the mixer has handled it with ease as did my old mixer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
